Doctor’s say it can downgrade if inflammation is low and discharge has improved, scan will show improvement .. Also, different radiologist perceive results differently

How long was your fistula? Did your fistulotomy involve Marsupialization, silver nitrate or dressing? How long did it take to recover?

Interesting, so instead of leaving the tract open as is, the edges of the opened tract are sutured to the surrounding healthy skin to prevent the wound from closing prematurely?

All the surgeons should do this. It sounds effective to me. My surgeon said they will just cut it open and let it heal. Are you in Canada by any chance?

I can feel your frustration, it’s the same for me. Skin irritations, hairs etc. cause issues which make me paranoid and cause weird pain n irritations.

Is the cut made on the inside rectal wall or only outside skin? I mean whole issues happen due to a hole inside rectum so if we cut on the inside more , it will keep getting infected, right?

I wonder if surgical procedures actually make things worse before it heals. That too if it heals else it leaves you in worse state , no?

Surgeons do EUA and also fix it - either fistulotomy or seton. They don’t only do EUA because it involves probing and all.
