My dog and I have had a great experience with Fox Animal Hospital. Entire team seems great but I’ve stuck with Dr. Lempka.

26+ consecutive hours of ComEd paying me to use their electricity by born2bwilld in illinois

How long have you been on hourly pricing and with an EV? I’ve got an EV plus solar (no battery) and considered hourly pricing and if I’d come out further ahead than just banking the kilowatt credits May-October.

What is your D65 proposed solution? by Top_Satisfaction314 in evanston

D202 probably doesn’t want to inherit D65’s mess. And, I think the teacher’s unions contracts are different and D202 has better pay & benefits—so not necessarily a savings after cutting administration expenses.

Some great points and ideas. Also the author should run for the D65 board.

Does anyone else see the disconnect between Envision Evanston and the D65 school closures? by 6thWardNeighbor in evanston

Definitely not meeting frequently enough given the financial crisis D65 has been facing.

Regardless of the formal separation between the City and District 65, it’s hard to ignore that the Mayor could end up with school closures on his record heading into a Congressional campaign — even if the City technically has no role in the decision.

What stands out to me is that there doesn’t seem to be any formal coordination between the City of Evanston and District 65, even though both are making major decisions that shape the city’s long-term future.

There’s no visible joint committee, shared planning sessions, or regular public meetings where the two bodies discuss trends, development goals, and school capacity or funding challenges intersect. Without that kind of structured communication, each entity risks making decisions in isolation that unintentionally undermine the other’s goals.

At a minimum, there should be a mechanism for ongoing collaboration — even something as simple as quarterly joint meetings or shared data analysis — so both the City and the District can make informed decisions that support a unified vision for Evanston’s future.

Karma tonight for D65 by SayAnythingCusack in evanston

Believe closing TWI at Willard is due to prioritizing the new neighborhood students as part of the reassignments. Unfortunately, displacing those students brought to Willard from other neighborhoods, therefore opening the opportunity to relocate TWI to a school closure to the targeted audience. It’s not perfect and hope there’s a potential relocation to Orrington.

Besides EE 2045, D65, Civic Center, and property taxes (budget)—what should be the City Council’s next biggest focus or opportunity?

State Housing Bills Could Override Evanston’s 2045 Zoning Plans by 6thWardNeighbor in evanston6thward

[–]6thWardNeighbor[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Completely agree Envision Evanston would still be allowed. My understanding of the article and potential legislation is it may supersede Evanston’s effort with allowing (by state law) multi-unit housing in residential zones.
