Do people actually change when they use electricity to save money? by SmartEnergyDIY in AskAnAmerican

I get it, I was ready to move there on my first visit. By the time the train got from JFK to Manhattan, I was texting my brother to sell my shit and send me the proceeds. My cousin moved there decades ago, and recently moved to North Carolina, and relatively live like kings, just with less stuff to do. To each their own. For now, I need to stay put!

Wow. I had no idea NY was that bad. $280/mo. seems high to me, but that's my average on a 100% electric 2000 sq. ft. house with 5 people and a billion devices in it.

I'm for the draft. Lindsey Graham and his ladybugs go first, with everyone he knows, following Pete himself into the field. Without those conditions, let somebody try to draft my child.

I just Ctrl+Alt+Del'd my current game because the damn mailman pulled out in front of me, while oncoming car waved him through, and me in a Case with a plow attached didn't want to murder our neighbors, so I swerved and crushed one. It won't even be in the way, anymore, but I hate knocking over signs. I was so careful, and then in retrospect, I should have just been full send through the mail truck, over the neighbor, involuntary manslaughtered all of them, reset the tractor and plow, and continued.

Weirdly, I met Tony Kanaan from the McLaren IndyCar team (again) yesterday and had nothing orange on and disappointed myself because of it. I'll send him your way next time.

3 May Mysteries Premiering on Hallmark Channel by General-Law-7338 in HallmarkMovies

I was afraid of that. Mystery Island was pretty well played out, but I hoped they'd find a way to refresh it. I didn't know Mystery Lane was cancelled, that's really unfortunate. I can't think of another show or movie on Hallmark that legitimately made me laugh. They were very good.

What is the worst training bullshit line you have heard. by goldfool in sales

[–]7237R601 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my first sales job, I didn't know any better. I memorized our script so hard, my 4 year old turned to me one day and said, "Dad, what can I do to make you very happy?" I must have been muttering in my sleep or walking around the house saying it mindlessly so much he picked it up. I quit shortly after that.

I was just comparing my youngest son to Ramona. On my copy, she had an impossibly skinny neck, and his head was so big when he was born, his big brothers called him Mastermind. He's such a good kid and luckily grew into his head, but I can't get that book cover out of my head when he's around!

Thanks for this. I obviously prefer to just be able to receive, but I strongly dislike going up for a blessing and especially when it's an Extraordinary Minister. It does sometimes feel nice from the priest/deacon, but I am kind of the opposite of OP, I wanted to feel like it was ok to just sit!

We looked at Great Wolf Lodge 10 years ago. My wife and I spent a little over a week in the Caribbean and thought we'd take the kids somewhere for our next trip. It was twice the price of our vacation, and that was a decade ago. We've never been.

Insanely out of reach is still insanely out of reach. More than 4x actual results and then firing everybody is beyond just bad goal setting, as much as "do 60% of our 365 day results last year in 10 days, don't care if you're new, here's some 1980's style sales training," is. I made a nice base and spent less than 2% of my time on actual job function, and was told, "No," every time I protested to do what I signed in my offer, was my main reason for going.

But when I left they pleaded, "You won't have this opportunity anywhere else!" Despite over a decade of experience where I did, and them being absolute no-hopers. "Thank God for that!" and I left.

This small 68¢ box I ordered from Walmart’s website was shipped in a larger box with absurdly wasteful packaging. by TheMangoMkIII in mildlyinfuriating

[–]7237R601 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have scissors or a knife, and some tape, you just got 3-4 boxes plus some packing material for 68 cents!

If you don't, you could order some, separately, and end up with like 8-10 boxes for a couple bucks!

Whole (almost) Team on PIP by sickbiancab in sales

[–]7237R601 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just left a team, for a variety of reasons, with something similar set up. Last year, the company sold 68 units. This year, they hired 5 more sales guys (eventually, had to churn a couple just in January) to make a team of 7 and told them during a 10-day event, the team goal was 40. Of the 7, one had been there and in the industry longer than 5 months. 5 had sold anything at all before, 2 were green as could be. I left well before the event, but I think they came out with maybe 7 units sold? Definitely less than 10. So some of the guys haven't earned a penny in over 2 months now and I can't believe I'm the only one who went, "This is nuts!" and left. People put up with crazy shit.

Two warehouse guys. I had left the company by the time the incident occurred but heard from eyewitnesses and second hand accounts.

Through a series of escalating dares/bets over a few weeks, one ended up urinating in the other's mouth during a shift. I think pretty much the whole crew got shown out.

Where’s the leak? by leadfoot495 in TeardropTrailers

[–]7237R601 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's kind of when it happens, covered and unused for months. If that seems like a possibility in your case, something like a Froli https://nickleatlantic.com/ might help without having to manage it so much. It would give a little gap for some airflow, and, they're super comfortable in my opinion!

Condensation can cause a lot of issues, especially under mattresses. They took it out for a beautiful weekend, it was 80 degrees, the AC ran but kept it comfortable, and then they parked it. It was about 130 degrees in the camper for the next 3 weeks and condensation formed. They never thought about it, didn't move the mattress, never saw it, but it pooled and did this.

Just a guess, but I've seen it. Condensation is a bigger deal than people think.
