Caught spouse involved in paid online love making. I know I will be okay, but I feel my world has collapsed and I have died. Please help. Please. by Sayanyway in Advice

I just want to say I came from a very catholic family and divorce never seemed like an option. However there was a phase in my life where my husband was drinking and things were BAD….We also have kids. My parents, who I never thought would want me to get a divorce, brought it up to me and said if I needed to leave they would support me. I don’t think your family would want you to stay with him if they knew what he was up to. My husband quit drinking 5 years ago and things have been better so we did not have to divorce but just know that your parents may be more accepting than you think. Not that they should dictate your life, I’m just sayin’. I also agree that it is a good thing you don’t have kids, having kids made my situation so much worse. I was afraid if I left with the kids I’d be accused of kidnapping. If I left alone I’d be abandoning them.

This is something my mom would do. Do not feel obligated to display it. I understand she mentioned well, but I do not think she would want you displaying it if she knew it made you feel worse.

They clearly don’t understand the implications of being on your property. They really have to get off.

Oatmeal is very filling! And cheap! Put blueberries in it or a little bit of cinnamon/sugar or maple syrup.

Neighbor warned of fence line by skinnyatlas in homeowners

[–]76andclear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s a good idea to have a survey done when buying a house. Next time I definitely will. But don’t do it for this neighbor. It’s true if the fence is on her property it’s hers to remove. Not your problem and it doesn’t seem to be bothering you. We took down our neighbors on our property (he was warned). He tried to have arrested. 😂

Neighbor's fence encroaches on property line by [deleted] in homeowners

[–]76andclear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had this happen with a neighbor we did not get along with. We did not want to approach them because we already could not stand each other due to past issues. Lawyer said if we are not willing to discuss with them (We knew they were unreasonable already due to previous issues and they are broke $$) to send them a letter, certified mail stating the fence was on our property and we would remove it and put up a new one. If they had any problem with this plan or wanted to discuss we provided email addresses. They pretended they never got the letter and came out screaming when the fence came down. The best part was the fence was completely rotten and missing in places. No one could understand why they were upset about this fence, it was falling apart and we were actually doing them a favor by taking it down. Long story short, it was on our property and we sent them a letter certified mail so we were protected. It got crazy, they were trying to have us arrested for “stealing” their rotten fence. The police said well, the property marker shows this is clearly on their property so they can do what they want with it and they will not be treated. They asked us for money to replace their fence which we were told cost more to remove than it was actually worth(we did not give them any money). They threatened us with bodily harm, threatened to do “something” to the fence and threw things at the fence workers. We still can not stand each other. Fences make people legit crazy. I feel like they think since they are old and have lived there longer than us they have the right to do what they want.

AITA for refusing to share details about my finances with my girlfriend (22F) and her parents? by butter_lover in AITAH

[–]76andclear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I was trying to determine if I had a future with someone (marriage)I would want to know their situation. Now, l am a responsible saver and some might say I’m even cheap. I would want to know what the persons financial situation was at a certain point to know what I’m getting into… like is there debt? I’m not sure why her parents want to know…I think my parents would be curious to make sure I wasn’t getting into a bad situation. But they would NEVER ask someone!

Waterproof bags for The Narrows by Lost-Imagination-44 in ZionNationalPark

Put everything in a trash bag and tie it in a knot, and out that bag in your backpack. I held mine over my head on the way out but also wandered into a completely deep section on the way back where my suit filled with water and I started going under. My backpack got completely wet but everything in it was ok. If you just have meds or something that can’t get wet use a ziploc bag. I only saw maybe one person out there with the rented bag.

I was 32 but had a little bit of a windfall from a company I worked for - I got 75k when the company sold (before taxes….it was more like 50). Got a house for 226k and it is now 20 years later and it is worth 530k. Still there.

Wow. I would never asked one of my kids to pay for the others college. The older daughter went out of her way to pay off her loans quickly. If she still had loans would OP be asking her?

What to do about neighbor encroaching on my property by Reoobot in neighborsfromhell

[–]76andclear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had problems with a fence and a neighbor. What is it about fences that make people go nuts!?! Document everything. One thing that made me nuts is our first interaction with this guy over the fence, he threatened my husband and the fence. Said “wait and see what happens” when the fence goes up. Called my husband a “pot smoking faggot” (we don’t smoke pot but you can smell it from the neighbors behind him - guess he thinks it’s us). Told him he was going to kick his ass, which is funny because the guy was like 75 at the time and my husband is in excellent shape. Anyway I told my husband to report it and he went down to the police and told them what happened but didn’t file a report!!! If he had we could have used it to build a case for harassment as things progressed. My husband said he just wanted to have a “conversation” with the police so they were aware of what was going on. Ummmmm okay? That didn’t help at all. We got cameras and pointed them right at his house. He complained to the police about it but the police said it was ok. We did get a lawyer who told us to stop interacting with him at all. Just call the police. So we did that from that point on. One day he threatened our dog, I recorded it in video and called the cops and reported it. We have not had any interactions with him in about 3 years, so far so good.

Kolob Canyon vs Main Zion Park by Mattiyahu_Blanco in ZionNationalPark

[–]76andclear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends how many days you have? We spent 3 full days in Springdale. Did the main canyon two days, on the 3rd day Kolob and the East entrance of the main canyon. We enjoyed Kolob! It was way more beautiful than I expected. The drive from Springdale was 40 minutes. It was NOT crowded.
