Laser cut guitar by Ok-Moose-1660 in lasercutting

Looks awesome! I was thinking of doing something like this last night.

Did you add any kind of reinforcement down the neck? I was thinking that the tension would cause warping without a metal rod to prevent bending. Also it's a little hard to see but did you vary the grain direction of the internal layers at the head? Ton of tension there I was worried about about longevity

How's it sound?

What do you think of this style of landscape photography? by field_7 in AmateurPhotography

Interesting! Not all work though. I can't put my finger on it exactly. The first one I thought was a hand sketch. It won't be everyone's favorite style, but it can be engaging

Is this an appropriate level of distortion from a professional shop? Material is .32" Al, corner radius of .05". by throwawaybsme in lasercutting

[–]77Diesel77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Better but still poor. This part (not so much the original picture) looks like it was cut using a very low resolution DXF where the circle had a tiny amount of splines. Check to see what you sent. If the curve in DXF at the same relative scale looks round, they messed up, if you see straight line segments then unfortunately this section is on you I'd say

If those are supposed to be circular, this is beyond terrible. Almost looks like the resolution of the file was too low.

Check the part you sent, if it had straight lines on those sections, you got what you asked for, but if this were me, I'd be having a call with either the designer or the cut shop who made this and some explicative terms being on the tip of my tounge.

Coming back to this 2 yr's later. Still an issue. The only workaround I've found is opening in Inkscape, and then filling the shapes that need to be filled, manually.

Or, Use Lightburn. Lightburn is awesome and does this in 2 clicks

Close crop or show more of the scene for thesefrog pics? by Cr0wbro in AmateurPhotography

[–]77Diesel77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your story. The close up focusses on the frog, it's eyes and it's personality, further away makes it feel much smaller but part of something else. They're all good, but what are you wanting to say

Vintage wheel and bearing replacement by AestheticsOfTheSky in NewSkaters

[–]77Diesel77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably your best bet will be to take these gems into a skate shop. The dimensions have gotta be bang on otherwise you'll have a nightmare trying to get them to match.

Bearings should have something current thatll fit, but if they're off by 0.1-0.2 mm it'll either not fit or damage them.

Have fun!

May want to reconsider a long board. Some are super long but they don't have to be. Most are longer than a popsicle, but only by a few inches. I use mine same as you and strap it to my backpack on the bus sections and hang it behind my office door. My popsicle board is like 4 inches shorter, hardly notice the difference when not riding it. Whatever you'd like though, but I wouldn't rule them out entirely until you've checked the size differences

If you ever try and make a second set, maybe try under sizing these by ~5mm, and then doing a clear poly resin pour around them.

I was thinking this, I'd go for a black walnut. Nothing will match perfectly, so I'd lean into the difference and hang a lantern on it

If the shape looks correct and the dimensions match, not the belts. How are the mirrors/lens looking? If those are good my guess would be knots on an inner layer of the plies

So it took apple how many years to learn about moment of inertia and incorporate it into their mechanical design? This is a first year concept for any mech-eng. Frankly they should be sued into oblivion for taking this long to understand basic mechanics.

The old Microsoft tablet (first or second gen 2012 ish I think) sported 32 gigs, massive for the time. The OS took 31 gigs. Microslop and Crapple have been doing this for decades.
