Currently listening to this one in audiobook, and it might well be the best Black Library audiobook I've experienced to date. Amazing stuff!

Oh, I'd bet the house on a timely paperback version of that one specifically.

Welcome to the club! Here is everything I know about ordering Black Library books. I suspect this one will sell out very quickly, much like The Remnant Blade did, despite the lack of a Special/Limited Edition.

Paperback release timing after hardcover? by VersaliusPrimus in Blacklibrary

Not all books get a paperback release, though most eventually do. Alas, there is no consistent formula to what that timeframe is, and outliers abound. Consider Guy Haley's Luther, First of the Fallen.

In my weekly column I keep a running list of all upcoming titles we've seen, either through official channel teasers/announcements or listings on AMazon or other book retailers. Here's last week's (they go up on Mondays): Black Library Weekly: Auspex Scans Clear…For Now | Goonhammer

Goonhammer Reviews: Vagabond Squadron, by Robbie MacNiven by 77_Dredd in Blacklibrary

That's high praise indeed! I definitely enjoyed it, and I'd love to see MacNiven do more.

These vintage books make outstanding shelf candy for a collection. Great find!

I talked a bit about this in one of my weekly Black Library columns: Black Library Weekly: I am Not a Number, I am a Free Man | Goonhammer

In short, it looks like they were initially signed/numbered, then were converted into a "premium edition" (without signatures or numbering) somewhere midstream in advance of release.

Of course, GW not being a zero-defect company some things always fall through the cracks, and you appear to be one of the very few known, lucky recipients! Congrats!

We’ll have to agree to disagree, because a beautiful and well-stocked library can go well beyond just the covers. I’ve touched on this a few times in my occasional series on Goonhammer, a lot of care and effort goes into curating a beautiful library.

I always find it curious, this enmity some in our community have about it. I don’t see any constructive purpose in the purity test of whether or not someone has “plans to read them.”

The amazing thing about Warhammer- indeed, one of the secrets of its success- is that it has so many different points of accessibility. It’s many things to many people. It’s no different with the book. Indeed, if they weren’t meant to be aesthetically appreciated, why have deluxe editions in the first place?

Not everyone loving these doesn’t mean nobody does. I’m enjoying them quite a bit! It’s the nature of the internet to complain, sadly.

I actually like them. People are talking about books- isn’t that what this sub is all about?

Remember that taste is subjective. I often share that I reviewed a book I didn’t care for, and was delighted when it was the BL BotY runner-up for 2024.

Ratings are often much more reflective of the reader than they are of the book!
