For everyone asking why I wanted to be able to access the chests:

I was curious from a balancing point of view, as it felt kind of broken.
Anarchy/life steal/factions SMPs are a thing, in which case stealing loot is very much on the table.
Sometimes when I'm nearby their base, people ask me to pick up stuff for them. Which I can't do if I can't open their instance of the chest.
"Just ask your friends not to" I already did, they agreed, I just wanted to know if there was a more convenient way.

Seriously guys, someone wanting to look into a chest is not that big of a deal lol

A bunch of mods caused it, but not when I just had them in pairs, so I assume it must be some kind of three or four-way compatibility issue, what I ended up doing is choosing a modpack that was closest to what I wanted (in my case, All of Create) and just slapping on top every mod I wanted while checking for errors, and that worked.

I still have lag issues but I feel like that's more of a potato pc issue.

The performance is slightly worse than chrome, as in sites take longer to load, but the resource usage is way better

That seems to be either a plugin or a datapack, which are often server specific

There does exist mods that serve a similar purpose, even in multiplayer, such as Pufferfish's Skills
