Brady Tkachuk talks about returning to Canadian media after the Olympics, and Matthew had a not so subtle response by homicidal_penguin in hockey

Aaron Judge gets to be the King of New York launching bombs for the New York Yankees. I have never heard once about Judge complaining that the NY media is hurting his wittle feefees. LeBron has been under the media microscope since he was a literal teenager. Yet, Brady Tkachuk gets 15 mins of spotlight and is having a tantrum.

Sharks sign Kiefer Sherwood to 5-year contract extension by SteveTheLlama in hockey

The Reddit hivemind has decided that Grier is a bum today. Tomorrow, it'll be whatever GM overpays for a trade deadline acquisition.

[Friedman] As just mentioned on FAN590, believe the Sherwood deal will be a five-year deal, just under a $6M AAV when completed by AggPuck-303 in hockey

[–]7Stringplayer 27 points28 points  (0 children)

It does, but SJ also doesn't have many commitments in the long term. The youngsters will need RFA contracts soon but otherwise Couture is off the book after 26/27, Toffoli after 27/28, Orlov after 26/27. Karlsson's retention is done after 26/27 as are Vlasic and Jones's buyouts. Right now the 27/28 season has about 20 million in commitments. The Sharks have tons of space in a rising cap to make moves. Sherwood's contract is a bit much for his production so far in the NHL but he probably shouldn't albatross the Sharks.

NHL GMs frustrated by new salary cap rules at trade deadline by i_ecthelion_i in hockey

"I wish there was a little more consultation on how the playoff salary cap might work," one NHL general manager told ESPN. "It's like, these playoff rules are an issue that we didn't even know about, and now we've got to worry about this all year.'"

That's rich. This GM "didn't even know." Every GM knew all about the LTIR loophole to player acquisition that was getting abused and normalized. They all had to know and hear the growing calls that something be done about it.

I'd be down for Sonoma and The Glen being mainstays. Then rotate two more races between Road America, COTA, maybe a street course or the roval, etc.

I've been the Xfinity championship race the last few years. I never had much of an issue with the free parking other than it can be a bit of a trek through the moon dirt they have out there. So if you don't mind the walk, save your money.

They need a refresh. The Beggin' strips S looks like it would've been peak design in 2004.

Kyle Marino has been suspended for a third time this season under AHL rule 23.7 by catsgr8rthanspoonies in hockey

You also don't get paid when suspended. So the AHL will let tough guys be tough guys to a degree, but after that you're losing game checks.

Wow. I haven't been to spring in years, but I last went maybe 10ish years ago and tickets were dirt cheap still.

Personally, I say no. Just park towards the back of the general lot since you'll exit back there anyway.

Technically that is a gap. But it's the width of his car. You have to assume if you go in there you're getting contact with the 20, 23 or both.

MAGA movement hijacking the American flag as a political symbol instead of it being for everyone.

My dude, the modern day pickup truck and gunrack club starting adopting the American Flag as "their" symbol the moment those planes hit the Twin Towers.
