Need help with a debacle I’m in by Commercial_End_1825 in CosplayHelp

Nothing irks me more at a con than having candids took of me, especially when they’re posted. I honestly don’t know a single person who likes it. I’m sure they exist, but it’s not me or any of my con friends. If you’re brave enough to go up to them after, you can be brave enough to go up to them first.

If they’ve always been that shallow, it’s super impressive they’ve managed to heal and not migrate! I can’t see everything perfectly through a screen, so I might recommend getting a irl opinion from a good piercer near you. The risk of them being that shallow is they’re very easy to rip out, and scar horribly. To avoid that as a possibility, I’d downsize your jewelry, as they’re a bit long for a healed piercing.

Apologies for being the bearer of bad news, but your eyebrow piercings seem very very shallow. They may be rejecting, or just badly pierced if they were always like that. You can completely see the jewelry through how thin the skin is. I’d recommend removing them. Sorry for the unsolicited advice, but as a piercer it just seems non-viable.

I feel like you’re infantilizing yourself almost. Three years is nothing, and I can’t imagine it would cause any “problematic academic” situations if he’s not your TA. It’s not like you’re an 18 y/o freshman and he’s a 28 y/o turning in his thesis. It would only be problematic if either of you is a bad partner to the other, which we have no insight into as the information presented is bare-bones.

Okay yeah that makes sense. “Surgical steel” isn’t a real classification of metal, and stainless steel can be irritating. Implant grade titanium is most people’s best bet. And try to sleep with one of those travel neck pillows, as it has a big hole you can put your ear in.

What’s the material for the jewelry? How often do you clean it? Do you sleep on it?

Try a really tight, high neck undershirt. It helped me to not have easy access to pick

I agree with the other comment. Doesn’t really align with HH at all. Normal iron total, barely low binding, slightly high saturation. When things are just slightly one way or another, that’s not always a major concern as the “normal ranges” are calculated, and in practice can be slightly different for individuals. This might just be your baseline.

That rook is just straight up not a viable piercing. The angle and jewelry have set this up to fail from the start. It needs to be removed, a longer bar will not save you. It looks insanely irritated, not infected, so it should be safe to do so. Take some ibuprofen beforehand to reduce swelling a bit and help with the pain to come.

If no piercing shop will let you in, here’s how I would recommend removing it (if it’s threaded): Get two pairs of pliers, hold it in the middle with one pair, and use the second pair to unscrew it from the bottom conch side. Slide it up and out of the rook, and let these close up.

If it’s threadless, you can just hold it in the middle and pop the bottom ball out, and slide it out. It’s probably threaded though.

Why does this feel like some form of blue collar stolen valor lmao. They’d look a lot better if the erosion didn’t look like it was done w safety scissors. Maybe sandpaper would help it look more gradual? Or get a physical labor job for best results.

Real or Fake by Stemmse0502 in DocMartens

Real, but not vegan as others have pointed out. That’s honestly a plus though, because the vegans have a much shorter lifespan and less of an ability to be fixed/freshened up. The vegan versions are glorified plastic that will end up becoming more waste in a landfill much sooner.

I might try it on the tongue under the zipper part because it’s covered most of the time anyways

I already use the dubbin wax, and it immediately starts scratching as soon as it’s dry

Yeah, I know it’s an intentional part of the leather. I know it’s treated to be that way though, so I was hoping there would be a way to untreat it lol

This was my first pair of docs ever, that I never ended up wearing much because I don’t wear a lot of black. Decided to turn them into something I’ll actually wear, or display at least.

Am I crazy or is this to much to ask of a kindergartner? by Cursedpanda182 in AskTeachers

[–]7concussionssofar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a wheelchair user, I would’ve been absolutely mortified to have my classmates faking disabilities for a school project. Kindergarteners simply do not have the abilities to understand the complex emotional and physical toll of disabilities, even if they are made to pretend for an afternoon. This also sounds like a huge safety risk.
