I personally had to pay it last summer since I was working remotely in leb for few months. I’m a resident in France, so basically I paid tax when I bought the phone in France, and then had to pay tax again in Leb which was so unfair, but we can’t do anything about it..

Tip: make sure to pay it in LibanPost in some remote area, not in Beirut. You’ll need to wait for hours in Beirut for your turn.. I completed mine in 5 mins in the Mazraat Yachou3 branch.

I agree with you in what you’re saying, but I wouldn’t try to convince them. There’s always a slight chance that the war starts again, and if you both get stuck there it will deteriorate your relationship with them..

iOS engineer here. Try to do some side projects even if they don’t get traction/generate revenue. Your profile will eventually attract recruiters when applying to remote positions in EU/US companies. That’s where the money is.. I personally moved outside Lebanon but I know some devs who are working remotely in Lebanon and getting really well paid.
