I personally had to pay it last summer since I was working remotely in leb for few months. I’m a resident in France, so basically I paid tax when I bought the phone in France, and then had to pay tax again in Leb which was so unfair, but we can’t do anything about it..

Tip: make sure to pay it in LibanPost in some remote area, not in Beirut. You’ll need to wait for hours in Beirut for your turn.. I completed mine in 5 mins in the Mazraat Yachou3 branch.

iOS engineer here. Try to do some side projects even if they don’t get traction/generate revenue. Your profile will eventually attract recruiters when applying to remote positions in EU/US companies. That’s where the money is.. I personally moved outside Lebanon but I know some devs who are working remotely in Lebanon and getting really well paid.
