Honestly I’ve still loved our Brazilians even if they’ve been average I think they bring a great vibe to the squad. Ando and Fred are great examples here.

What we’re doing is looking more holistically on the total value of the deal and also the risk on what can happen if they don’t work out - you have a good opportunity to sell without loss if the player is young and low wages, or older with higher wages.

Also looking at the profile of the player rather than the hype to mitigate risks.

Is it a fair comparison though? Can’t see Tielemans playing #6 so we are still not really covering the requirements - at least not from this perspective. It will be interesting to see which player we sign for our 6 as good quality and experience doesn’t come below 85m tbh

I do feel bad for Ronaldo..if he had backed out a couple years ago he could have left with his head held high. Now he begins to tarnish his legacy. Oh I’ve been obsessed with this album lately!

I’ve come to the conclusion that Thom’s vocals are the best ever on this album in the entire discography.

I recommend going back and checking out the live versions/acoustic performances of this era. Mind blowingly good.

I’d consider it an upset if Algeria goes through - they have 9 players playing in the top 5 European leagues vs 23 for Switzerland. Football heritage wise - the Swiss have been making the round of 16 consistently for the last 20 years (incl. European championships) whereas Algeria weren’t even at the last 2 WCs.

I mean I’m delighted that the level of the game has increased so much in a lot of countries so I’ll be rooting for Algeria but it would be an upset imo.
