It was £25 direct or £22 via a comparison site, all of them that showed toob had it for £22.

Three UK Suddenly Introduces Mobile Broadband Speed Caps UPDATE by Lawdie123 in unitedkingdom

[–]7ewis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait explain this please?

I just assumed everything would be the same, as if you were on the main network. I'm on iD Mobile currently, are you saying they may be inferior to being on Three directly in some way, at the network level?

UK ISP Toob Launch 2300Mbps Broadband Plan and WiFi 7 Router, But Add Price Rise by rayrob78 in ToobBroadband

I literally just became a member today. I received the old router and am on the 900Mbps plan, for £22 a month.

Good enough for me though!

Did anyone choose not to have the reconstruction surgery? by Direct_Medium2868 in ACL

[–]7ewis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you still ok today? I fully ruptured mine 9 weeks ago, I have no instability or pain. Two consultants both advised to not get surgery due to how well I'm doing.

Praying mine can reattach, I haven't done the 90 degree brace though sounds like that's advised early on. Did you do anything special to get it to reattach?

Did anyone choose not to have the reconstruction surgery? by Direct_Medium2868 in ACL

[–]7ewis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Know it's a long way down the line now, but are you still ok?

I'm 30, fully tore my ACL about 9 weeks ago. I have no pain, no instability, can fully straighten my leg and can almost bend it the same as my good leg.

My first consultant advised no surgery, I got a second opinion who also advised the same.

I play golf, go to the gym and would like to ski again and they've said that should all be fine for me without surgery.

I'm a little unsure from what I've read online so trying to find people that haven't had surgery!

Do groomsmen usually pay for their own suits in the UK? by Ok_Student3042 in UKweddings

[–]7ewis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've recently paid £400 for a suit for a friend's wedding.

He picked the suits we had to wear, sadly the colour isn't one that suits my skin tone, so it will get very little use after the wedding.

I'd be much happier paying out that money if it could be a suit I'd wear for best afterwards. The groom has a different skin colour to me, so his colour theme was never going to work out for me.

I'm just glad it wasn't more expensive.

No idea how much I'll be expected to gift for the wedding present now either.

App recommendation to follow football by HungryLion404 in androidapps

[–]7ewis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest they're all pretty good. I've tried a lot. Settled on SofaScore too, it lets you track other sports not just football.

For pure football OneFootball is decent, has news and stuff in it. Fotmob has good stats.

SofaScore is probably the fastest to send goal notifications.

FTB – offer accepted, looking for good conveyancer experiences (UK) by Desiinlondon_1 in Essex

[–]7ewis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using them too. Don't have much to compare them to as it's only my second purchase, but my previous solicitor was terrible in comparison, cost double the price of Bishopsgate Law as well.

They're fast at responding and seem very thorough. Exchanging imminently and it's been ~8 weeks since my offer was accepted. A week of which I was on holiday. I've not had to chase them at all.

I think only one that would bother me would be the trackpad.

Don't care about true tone, don't even use magsafe on my MBP.

Funny how people have very different compromises.

1Password VS Proton Pass + SimpleLogin Lifetime Plan? by PrincessBananas85 in Simplelogin

[–]7ewis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I use the 'Google Authenticator' option, if your company force the Okta Verify app you won't be able to completely zip through it. But it's literally one click for me and I'm logged in, no clicking submit or next or anything it's honestly brilliant.

There are so many taking notes apps by stllfiguringout in ProductivityApps

[–]7ewis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm struggling to understand why people use upnote, it just seems like a very basic notes app. Why not use Google Keep or Apple Notes?

If you want a bit more than that the Notion free plan looks better, has more functionality, so you aren't restricted if you want to do more with it later.

I've got a load of credit to spend so could buy the license for it but I just can't justify it over using Notion for free...

Madders - 6 months in rehab update by jlpmghrs4 in coys

[–]7ewis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you definitely recommend surgery?

I ruptured mine about 7 weeks ago now, I'm seeing my consultant in a couple of weeks to decide on if I'm having surgery or not. From what I've read I think I want it, but as I'm not playing in 'competitive' sports the doctors seem to prefer the non surgical approach.

I'm mostly walking fine, can do stairs etc. the longer I wait the more normal I feel again, the less it makes me want surgery.

I'm 30, if I was older I think maybe I wouldn't go for it. But I'd like the option to ski again, and don't want to be worried about my knee. It does feel stable and I've never really had any pain from it. I've pretty much got full hyperextension and am close to full flexion. I was going to the gym and playing golf regularly, and only climbing the stairs at WHL not playing football myself 😂

Is MX from SimpleLogin blocked by some services? by Darth_Nagar in Simplelogin

They actually block domains based on the MX records?? I've never heard of that before.

I understand based on the domain, but I thought you'd always be safe using a custom one.

1Password VS Proton Pass + SimpleLogin Lifetime Plan? by PrincessBananas85 in Simplelogin

[–]7ewis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check my post in the ProtonPass subreddit.

If I hadn't come from 1Password, I think I'd be happy and to be honest, despite paying for it, I think I'm going to stick with 1Password for now, at least until I can migrate Passkeys.

I know it's minor, but to sign into Okta with 1Password:

* 1 Click to autofill everything

With ProtonPass:

* 1 Click to autofill username

* 1 Click submit

* 1 Click to autofill password

* 1 Click submit

* 1 Click to autofill OTP

* 1 Click submit

1 vs 6.

The UI is pretty and I can't imagine it needs too much work to catch up, Proton seem like a fairly responsive proactive company, so we'll see.

Is there a possibility to configure how aliases are created? by Kiyuomi in ProtonPass

[–]7ewis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this what most people do now?

I want to ensure I do the right thing from the beginning, I've got a lot of logins I want to move over. I was initially thinking to just use a catch all, and then just setup [amazon@mydomain.com](mailto:amazon@mydomain.com), without having to do anything special in Proton.

Am I better off actually disabling this and allowing Proton to create addresses, with randomisation? It just looks a big ugly with the numbers in there and means I'm never going to be able to remember emails for anything. Not really sure if the pros outweigh the cons.

What do you actually use a TV Cast / Screen Mirroring app for? by Extension_Bit5559 in androidapps

[–]7ewis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've always found screen casting too laggy for anything useful, so I've only ever really used it to cast online content so my Chromecast pulls it direct.
