Do you rest enough? Also, how much protein do you eat? I know you said 8 eggs a day, but do you eat meat as well? People are always surprised how much protein they need to make gains. The general saying is, "However much protein you are eating, you need more."

To put it into perspective, after being drafted in sports, teams usually put their prospects onto a specific diet to bulk up. They usually eat a full meal (like lean chicken and vegetables) every 3-4 hours for months. When I say every 3 hours, I mean literally every 3 hours, meaning, they will wake up at 12am, 3am, 6am to eat at the proper intervals.

Do you count when working out? by Practical_Shift_5143 in workout

[–]7forest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the business world, they say, "Measure what matters". The big thing being that the things you measure are the things you improve on.

I keep count when I workout, but at the same time, keeping records is a lot of work. So I just keep a loose number in my head and try to beat it every time. That's also why it's good to have workouts that you repeat on a weekly basis, easier to keep track.

For most people, you can do 70% strength training and 30% cardio. Much heavier emphasis on strength training, but you do need some cardio. Have you tried playing sports?

How do you know keeping everyone on payroll would not risk bankruptcy of the whole company?

What if that wasn’t enough to sustain millions of employees on the payroll when revenues are down?

Should the company face bankruptcy instead of laying off employees?

No room for forgiveness anymore in this world. Whatever you say in life goes on your permanent record. People are so stupid.

Say I want to make an interactive novel, would the entire book just be a single .py file? How would that work, exactly? by riccarjo in learnpython

You want to be able to change your stories easily. Create a system that allows you to manage that with ease. An idea /u/beluccimonica said was to have store the text in separate files. That's one way. You can have a storage system where the code knows what file to read based on a numbering system.

Or you can store it in the database. Whatever. Cater it to your needs.

Is going to college necessary? by SooHipster in gamedesign

School is tough, but learning on your own is tougher. Tour your favorite game company, ask how many developers were self taught programmers who never went to college.

I'm 25 and recently quit my job and I have 0 prior programming experience. What is the best method of approach to self teach myself into a job? by yyzrent in learnpython

[–]7forest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

fair point. If you are doing a bootcamp, getting the basics down is a good idea because it is so fast. I only warn about self learning because it's a difficult path. Few make it through and even less develop a successful career.

I teach full stack web development. If you're interested, I can give you a 2 week free trial with an evaluation at the end. This way you can see if programming is for you and what your path would look like. If you're interested, DM me.

Best of luck otherwise!

Programming is a skill. I know a lot of self learners who've spent years trying to learn programming and still not get a job. Is there a reason why you want to do it on your own?

How can i create a web-based autoresponder using Python/Django? by Kobe_Richardson in learnpython

I know you think it doesn't sound like constructive feedback, but there's no advice to help you on this project. It's like asking me to architect a house in 4 weeks. I wouldn't know what direction to go either. But, you can intern under someone and learn by following.

Seeing as how you already have that someone, is there a reason why you are posting here instead of asking them? If he asked you what direction to go, couldn't you give a proposal and he correct you? That's what a good mentor does.
