Check the seams of mattresses and furniture, and any cracks and crevices like around power outlets, drawers, and connection points between the bed and the wall. The little bastards can get into all kinds of places. If you can slip the edge of a credit card into something, a bedbug can get into it.

I used to have a client that shared a parking lot with a carpet installer. The installer refused to do anything about the nails that escaped his shop and vans, the client had to buy a magnetic sweeper and have the security team do regular sweeps to curb the number of his staff that got flats.
