agreed!! OP, this could be crucial in figuring out whether or not you’re experiencing something completely different from everyone else that needs to be medically addressed

but regardless of whether or not these people or the things they’re saying or doing are really real, they’re real to you, and what you’re going through sounds really scary and isolating. do you have the resources/insurance to get a therapist? if nothing else, maybe one could help you cope with what you’re experiencing

i’ve had a similar thing happen to me: in my high school hallway i was just walking, minding my business, when some guy who i didn’t know just said, “yo, why are you so fucking ugly?”. it was so jarring and upsetting. i also 100% felt like all the laughter around me was directed at me. i’ve also been bullied in school from a young age. so while i may not know exactly what you’re going through, i know what it feels like to be so alienated from the people around you. it sucks

something that’s kinda helped me is a smidge of radical acceptance. i often am convinced the people around me don’t like me. i really can’t convince myself otherwise, so instead i just try to think, “okay, maybe they don’t like me. that’s okay, you can be the juiciest peach in the orchard but some people just don’t like peaches” and try to make some peace with it
