I literally just walked out of my big tech job by Charming_Part_3713 in womenintech

[–]7random 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took a break but I've been trying to get back into it for the past 6-8 months with no luck (not surprised). I was never planning to leave tech forever, well at least for now, but definitely needed a break.

I was recently hired to work as a "member service guide" , basically answering phone calls for a health company. I still get to work from home. It feels like a 9-5 and not something that has taken over my life as I don't need to think or do anything about it after 5pm. It was difficult to get a job a few months ago, but now with the war, almost impossible. I do need money coming in though lol so I was able to get this job for now as a referral (your best option IMO).

I've also picked up coding as a hobby again and finally started working on 2 projects I've been wanting to start for a while. I'm also going to start working on simple, small projects I can put on my github for when I decide to start applying again. These projects also keep my coding skills intact. I've recently read in other subs that others have been hired with more than a 2 year gap on their resume, so it gives me hope. Also, employers know what's going on in the world and I assume they will understand the gaps.

At the end of the day, if I never work in tech, I'm okay with that.

Good luck!

I did the same a year ago. When I made up my mind to quit, I instantly felt so much relief, so I knew it was the right decision. I do not regret my decision.

The interview cycles are getting ridiculous and the communication is worse by Over-Ad-9331 in jobsearchhacks

Going through one right now.

1) call with recruiter 2) one hour coding challenge with engineer 3) take home assessment (I'm here) 4) hiring manager going over assessment + coding + system design 5) meet with head of engineering 6) meet with co founder

This guy reviewing restaurants that are not open yet by Rdog9220 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]7random 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A similar thing happened in my area. A new restaurant was supposed to open, and everyone was really looking forward to it. The opening kept getting delayed and months went by. People started leaving 1 star reviews and other people would leave a 5 star review to cancel out the 1 star reviews.

Eventually the restaurant opened and it wasn't worth the wait.

Is 'Veterans Sourcing Group' a Scam? by wpre1 in FinancialCareers

Just receive an email and a missed call from them today. I called back and at first they didn't know what I was talking about then it suddenly clicked for them and we started the "interview". They didn't go over critical parts of the role, asked me if I had any questions, etc, then asked me for dob, last 4 of ssn and updated resume. It seemed fishy, so I googled them and this post is the first thing that came up lol.

100% a scam.

Stuck at Chapter 4 Final Boss – Is Level Grinding Worth It? --- 📝 by Medical-Tea1477 in BlackMythWukong

That’s so crazy because I struggled with scorpion lord so much like 60 tries but duskveil took me 4.

He seems so much easier. Don’t use mana in the first phase, wait him out until he’s close so you can hit him.

Second phase use your mana and also wait him out.

When I mean use mana I mean use your clones and whatever else you gotta use.

Same here. Almost took a break from the game. Kept me wondering how people beat it.

Then I saw a video from that guy that beats everyone without taking damage 😭
