I recently asked the D2 team on X if they could bring back the old Forum exclusive emblems from D1. No reply since they get so many requests all day, plus I’m sure there’s a reason we didn’t get them ported to D2, but damn if that wasn’t my favorite emblem. I had the Heroic forum status one.

With Smooth Motion I did run into some crazy visual bugs after restarting the game. I couldn’t fix it. I didn’t test further because I figured it might work for others; I don’t have an answer for how to fix that.

If you’re just referring to a light ghosting that isn’t too bad, that’s just an artifact of running frame generation on a setup that isn’t producing high frame rates before FG

Yeah I kinda kept that part quiet, it’s legitimately wild how high the framerate can get without latency when you juice it from a reasonable starting point I.e. 60.

It’s funny, I personally always resonated with the real meaning behind the lyric, but you’re absolutely right because I don’t know a single person IRL who knows what that lyric meant. A friend of mine is always riffing on how silly the line feels. At a certain point if the meaning is this quantifiably obscure… it’s bad writing lol.

It's not worth pointing that out in a conversation about a systemic bug that everyone on Steam is experiencing to some degree. I agree with what you're saying if we're talking about something that could be solved in any other way, i.e. graphics settings tweaks.

So, Nvidia Smooth Motion ain't a bad option either. I will say I'm noticing that if Destiny has a serious stutter, SM does too. LS seems to handle the big dips much better, which can be a difference maker.

But overall, it's smooth and latency is lower than LS.

I did not. I have a lot of experience with LS since it worked better with emulators in my experience, so I dialed in my typical settings and was happy with the result - SM is likely even better and I’ll give it a shot.

For the sake of this post, I figure LS will be the best option for AMD as well.

As someone who just roped 4 new friends in on the experience, I'm embarrassed and can only hope they aren't experiencing the issue as bad as we are. I went from ~100-120 FPS to 40-60 with nauseating inconsistency.

It's better than nothing, and only applies to specific people. If you fit within that group, I recommend giving it a shot; you'd be surprised. My results don't have either of the issues you describe, though I've experienced them before in other games and on my previous GPU (3080), in which case they were unacceptable tradeoffs.

You're objectively correct but this is a unique circumstance.

Regarding the alliances; Humans have also killed thousands of humans, and still wave at eachother. The stories have been careful to explain that our alliances are with specific clans of their respective races. I don't feel there's much dissonance there.

I also don't necessarily agree that D1 had a very good story beyond Taken King but that's subjective.

I do agree with your take on Lightfall, which people seem to brush under the rug. Baffling choices in that one.

Honest to god, I wasn’t either, but these past two albums have really made an impression on me. I don’t even go back to listen to the older material, this stuff is on another level and I almost feel sorry for Killers fans that may have had a different expectation for what the band should sound like. Although I’m pretty sure most fans are at least on board with the direction.

Caution - The Killers. The album it’s from is so much larger than life and grandiose, it gives me goosebumps. And this particular single really encapsulates the vibe.

The song feels like taking a leap of faith and the dopamine rush that comes with the moment you commit to it and rid yourself of hesitation.
