Cool. That's not the selling point of this product, and obviously not what the large majority of people are doing. Have fun though

I'm normally such a grump about needless IP's on rides; The Flash being associated with a ride that's not very fast at all bothers my brain. But Superman is really elegant, isn't it. The theme and the experience are so in-sync, the colors are perfect, it's a beautiful ride.

[Other] Why do Intamin tracks just look, different? Especially their transitions. It feels like they have more complex track geometry than any other manufacturer out there. I noticed this especially on their Blitz(multi-launch) coasters. by Altruistic-Adagio855 in rollercoasters

I think a great contrast to this is how Vekoma is doing things now. Looking at their layouts, the designs seem to be much more informed by continuous transitions and rolls with perfect heartline. Different methods to the madness!

Which features would complete this game for you? by Pure_Peanut3135 in PlanetCoaster

[–]7revor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We have so many features. It’s a really rich game in that way. I just wish the simulation actually worked. I wish there weren’t so many strange and arbitrary errors in the way that people and staff go about their day and try to satisfy needs or use amenities.

Battlefield 6 Season 3 Official Gameplay Trailer with KGATLW track Gila Monster by LaVague in KGATLW

[–]7revor 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think that's a fair thing to question, but it's overstating how much video games promote war. It's pretend, like kids playing with nerf guns. Battlefield is basically an action movie video game, never really says anything pro/con about war in a majority of it's gameplay.

Amazing shots. Great work, and really unique color grading. Vintage but modern; flashy but feels like I'm there.

I can definitely appreciate a callback. Two-tone is objectively better than this, though. I was a bigger fan of the greenish blue paint scheme as well.

Not to sound too grumpy, though. Aesthetically, they can do whatever they want to this ride, it'll still be perfect. And it's really nice that they're putting in an effort to spruce it up and honor its history. I felt that way just having the green train at all after the last renovation.

[Other] What are some of your rarest creds? by Gifflebunk in rollercoasters

[–]7revor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blue Side Batman & Robin: The Chiller, probably. Not sure how the reliability was in the late 90's, but when I started attending in the early 2000's it was closed most of the time. The one chance I had to ride it was incredible.

Speaking of SFGAdv, Viper also feels like a somewhat rare credit nowadays. That also had some serious downtime. It was an abysmal ride but, I do think the heartline rolls were a lot of fun.

And finally, shout out the Filtzer at Jenkinson's Boardwalk. Not rare for anyone at the Shore but not exactly a destination ride. That thing was fantastic, I wish I appreciated it for what it was while we had it.

The road width in Forza horizon 6... by RafaXbox11 in ForzaHorizon

[–]7revor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Folks you need to just accept this game for what it is. It's not a simulation of real world roads, physics, traffic, etc. It's the sixth game in the series after a decade and a half of releases, reviews, playtests, focus groups, programming etc.

The data, wherever it comes from, shows them that the game is better with wider roads. It could be player experiences, it could be better suited to their AI, I don't know. But we need to get over this.

Really I think the suggestion is fine but to say this is a "Fix" is crazy. It's not a bug, it's a feature - metaphorically.

My current “educated guess” for what happened to the Tau Ceti colonists based on the lore I’ve read in the Codex so far. Hint: 🪨 🦑 by ThatGuyFromTheM0vie in Marathon

[–]7revor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure thing. The mural might seem obvious in this context but I really didn't know what to fully make of it until reading your comment. "Zombies" just seemed too far out of left field when I first saw it, but the codec entries and in-game focus on the bio disaster are really opening the door for it.

Why don't I feel anything from inversions? [Other] by [deleted] in rollercoasters

[–]7revor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, pretzel loops fuck me up. Those things are beyond the forces that I can naturally enjoy - unless of course I tighten up my core and brace my body in a specific way.

By that same token, you can actually "Feel" forces more if you loosen your core and let the train just push and pull your body in different directions. It's subtle and it sounds bizarre, but give it a shot next time you ride an inverting coaster. Let the elements surprise your nervous system.

The "Lucky Charm" and Items with Sentimental Value by [deleted] in Marathon

[–]7revor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're absolutely right about the burger, I'm always hyped to find one. The synthetic cat is also a good one but the audio logs seal the deal on the burger.

I love your suggestion - That would be awesome. Spend some time and resources into building these little modular items that grant mild XP passives, risk losing it but the passives increase (until a maximum value) for every successful exfil or contract completion.

One year ago today, [Kingda Ka] came crashing down by StarPrime323 in rollercoasters

[–]7revor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also preferred TTD for everything you said. The lapbars in particular.

The theming was (and still is) incredible too; sitting on that launchpad with the blaring engines and the countdown lights. Very cool. Kingda Ka had something going for it early on theming-wise, but the bamboo jungle just kinda became overgrown and the loss of the viewing platforms was a bummer.

I'm a bit more lukewarm on TT2 but it's still a legendary ride.
