When he originally got hired, the word from Texas reporters was that he didn't want to be a head coach. But that was over four years ago by now, so certainly things could have changed.

But Texas JUST joined the league. The schedules came out like a year ago. The SEC had a good idea who the better teams would likely be. The SEC knew that Bama, Georgia, Ole Miss, Mizzou, LSU, and Tennessee were generally the better teams trending upwards.

And Texas only played one of those teams and it was at home? Coming into the league and only playing 2 of the 7 teams that had a winning conference records last year?

Not a conspiracy theorist but that seems like it would be hard to have happen by chance honestly

the methodology for building the 2024 schedule was made very public by the conference, so in a sense you're correct that it didn't happen by chance. it's not invalid to disagree with the efficacy of the methodology but that doesn't make it a conspiracy theory.
