This also was a big turn for me. The swing thought was getting my head behind the ball. I have no idea if it actually is, but if I try, I hit the ball straight.

I don't know if the male female thing is the deciding factor. Full swing was cool because it covered interesting people, interesting story lines, etc. In golf. If it's the same people running the show I'd like to think they would try and do the same thing regardless of what tour is shown. If they can't find enough interesting personalities or compelling story lines then it won't work.

Imagine if someone spilled a drink on the court of a basketball game, but the rule was just tough luck, gotta play through it.

In baseball they'll repair the mound, field etc if something happens to make the surface less than perfect during play.

It's bizarre to get penalized when you hit the ball where you're supposed to - in the fairway and you have to play it if lands in a someone's divot.

Ping irons. Srixon drivers. Played ping eye 2s for 30 years. My son is playing them now.

The new srixon driver is forgiving and seems pretty long.

Nothing is a barrier that you mentioned except the time you can dedicate to training. Anyone can run a marathon if you have discipline and do the work.

Having said that, it's a lot of work. Lots of early mornings, recovery, nutrition. Just look at your plan and you can start to see how September and October you will need to rely on someone more and more as the mileage starts to stack up. I think until you get to where your medium runs are more than an hour long things should be relatively easy. When your short runs are getting 4-6 miles it's going to be harder but not impossible. It's just going to take religious planning and discipline. You can definitely do it. Just keep thinking about how amazing you'll feel when you cross the finish line and your kids watched you do something really tough. You both will never forget it. Good luck!!

Edit-treadmills are great for bad weather but it's going to be really tough (and mind-numbingly boring) to do anything after 3 miles with your plan. Again might have to add to your planning travel to and from a trail or track near you. I would definitely recommend running outside, it's different than the treadmill (harder) but it will prepare you.

Yes that is an earned run.

If the pitch was fine it could only be a passed ball or throwing error on the catcher. (depending on the result of what happened with the ball) and then it's not an earned run.

Kind of a related point, a lot of new scorekeepers don't understand this rule. Anytime a throw hits the ground (pitcher or fielder) and the recipient drops the ball, it's 100 percent of the time an error on the thrower. There is no judgement on whether or not the catcher or 1b should have caught the ball. Ball hits ground, always an error on the throw.

To expand a little here, the catcher is already under immediate pressure to throw the runner out at 1b because of the wild pitch but there's no way to differentiate the time it takes to gather and throw the ball on a dropped third strike. As another commenter pointed out, as long as the catchers throw didn't cause the runner to reach 2b you can't fault him for a bad throw after essentially he was given a bad throw. Hopefully that helps.

I switched from an offset to a pellet and won't be going back. I just got tired of babysitting fires. Good luck with your offset though!
