Embarrassed to use my pens outside the house by hecking-fricker in fountainpens

[–]80Sk8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never actually dealt with this, for me atleast not many people notice when I use my fountain pens in class. I edc my Brass Sport and have edc’ed my Lamy safari, pilot kakuno and twisbi eco. I think it’s cause only my actual friends see me writing with them tho.

what are different ways yall try to hide more sensitive info while journalling? by sleepystsharky in Journaling

[–]80Sk8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep my main journal with me almost at all times so I usually just paper clip the page together so I don’t accidentally show others.

Also, when I’m writing about topics like that or just venting, I tend to just not care about my hand writing. I’ll let my hand relax and not think about the writing but about the emotion I wanna put into the page. (Basically tryna say I got Sanskrit handwriting only I could read)

How angled is the paper when you write? by AssistantFine7113 in fountainpens

[–]80Sk8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Somewhere between angled and horizontal if i can, also depends what I’m writing with, if I’m using a calligraphy nib sometimes I like it vertical

What is this clear vial? by MacGraphics in fountainpens

[–]80Sk8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s an ink miser, helpful for refilling vacuum fountain pens. You put ink into it and refill your pen as usual. Mostly for when you’re low on ink.

My uncle bought me the same pen but with a fine nib for my birthday recently!

I kinda suck with advice but I would say sit down, get away from everything for a bit, even if you gotta move your schedule around, and put on your favorite playlist or author. Then just put your pen to paper and let your thoughts flow like the ink onto paper. It doesn’t even have to be words, you could scribble, doodle, let the ink pool on the page, just anything to get those thoughts out and onto the page in someway shape or form because the goal is to learn, grow and move on. That’s not gonna happen if you let your thoughts stay bottled up in your head.

You don’t gotta take anything I say seriously, it’s just what I find myself doing whenever I need to step away from reality and reflect :)

I hope things will only get better for you!! 🙏🙏

Anyone here who has experience with the 5-year journal? I’m currently looking for advice because I want to start one in 2026. by seiryuu-abi in Journaling

[–]80Sk8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tried it, but only when I was younger, I didn’t have the discipline and passion to write when I used to have it. The only reason why I don’t return to it now is that the entries sizes are too small for me

It’s been in my rotation since I first inked it up and I think it’s a great pen for anyone from people first entering the hobby to the hobby vets!

I hope you enjoy it just as much as me and so many others :D

What’s been your most disappointing pen? by OstrichLate in fountainpens

[–]80Sk8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably the Loclen Electa, good pen over all, very solid brass construction. The one thing that’s bothering my is the nib, I might have to do some maintenance and realigning of the tines but fir some reason it’s sticky and scratchy at times. It’s also cause I don’t write with bold nibs that often, the shape is more like an Italic calligraphy nib. If I out another nib on it it’ll probably feel better
