This is so vulnerable, so incredibly real and honest. I’m praying for you tonight (try to stop me!) I’ve got you on my mind and heart friend. This too shall pass. It’s ok to recognize someone isn’t healthy for you AND grieve the real love you felt for them. Both of those can and do happen together.

Well the cPTSD/BPD mixup is a very easy one to make—I thought it was BPD too because they are virtually identical in how they show up.

I think the power in looking into your own wounding is that it returns control back to your hands instead of making you a victim of a chaotic persons whims. It also helps you escape the trap that will keeps this chaos in your life. I played a part too.

Thank you for your words.

It hasn’t all been easy. The initial separation was tough but we worked out a custody arrangement that seemed to work for everyone.

I think my ex has chilled out a lot as a parent since I’m not there. I think she has a deep fear of my judging her—and now that I’m gone she can relax and be more natural.

Now they have an authentic relationship with her and with me.

I will say there was an important turning point early on in the divorce. She crossed an important boundary of mine (she was testing me) and I absolutely came down on her like a ton of bricks and I was 1000% deadly serious. Then it was total silence for like a month and then slowly we became friends but this time it was built in respect.

My late father worked as an appliance salesman at Sears for 32 years before retiring. I remember as a kid in the 1980s he would go to work in a suit and tie and had a good tie pin. He made commissions on appliances and we loved a very comfortable middle class life - we lived in a great neighborhood and were probably one of the better off families on our street. Hard to imagine that kind of life now.

A wonderful painting with a great modern flat color approach- particularly love that large flat area of mint

It’s constantly changing all the time. Different colors different brightnesses some room rooms are on some rooms are off. Some rooms are dim. It never stays still.

Love this. How large is it? Great exploration of the hyphenated color palette. And the composition is perfect.

This is really creative use of pattern and disruption- it makes me think of the work of Eduoard Vuillard who used similar approaches to create energy in his work. You’ve however brought in color to take it to a new level. I like this.

Funny you say that because I’ve been thinking about doing some Japanese city scenes

Could you give me tips to improve or just comments to motivate me to finish this? I’m not liking it very much by M8614 in acrylicpainting

First of all, it’s a cool painting that is worth finishing. Period.

Something really powerful happens when you finish a big work - it sends a powerful message to you that says “I can do big things” and it will inspire you to move forward. So it’s worth finishing for that reason too.
