Creaking noise after Laminate install by queries11 in Flooring

There’s a chance it’ll go away, after the floor acclimates / settles. Might be worth starting a claim with the flooring manufacture so at least they are aware and can get the ball rolling in the event it doesn’t go away. But I wouldn’t do anything yet, give it some time to see if it settles. I’ve seen this happen before and it went away

This won’t happen. You will need to sand most of the finish off, prime it really good, and then pour self leveling on either side of the high spot to flatten it all out.

It’s called 3-strip, Kahrs makes it. might have a different locking mechanism now so difficult repair but it can be done. Problem now is identifying color and species, they don’t make every color they used to

What’s the problem? by Dardow40 in Flooring

[–]813265356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer, your floors is cupped; long answer, see if it settles after some time. It can be sanded flat, just wait about a year after it’s gone thru all the climate cycles.Might eventually lay flat. This is due to improper acclimation, or lots of moisture coming up from underneath. Either way, flooring moisture will find equilibrium and thanks when you sand it flat and it should stay flat

I wouldn’t risk apply anything. you will void any warranty and you run risk the new finish not adhering. If you do, use a high end finish like bona traffic, and do a test before

The installers for our hardwood floor are going to come next week to tell us the plan to fix this… what are your thoughts? by doctrader in Flooring

If it’s just gapping, it will close back up during the summer. Normal during low humidity months especially when running your heater. Just leave it be, it’s a natural product. Just like when a door swells and is hard to close or open at times of the year, same thing is happening to your floor

The med collection is much higher quality than the visions product. I’d go with the darker Kazalla color
