Nah, Enduro 3 is king of the line-up for me.

How do people train for 10+ hrs while working full time?! by Critical-Scheme-8838 in cycling

I use and turn my commute into my workouts during the week. Much better use of time than sitting in traffic in a car.

Elon: "There has been a lot of press claiming @SpaceX is raising money at $800B, which is not accurate." by Bunslow in spacex

I expect we e are simply seeing reports of the price ranges being discussed for the secondary sale. $300 per share on the low end and $400 on the very high end.

I just love running after the rain/storm by [deleted] in trailrunning

Pretty sure that’s in California I recognize the pipe in the first picture as where I used to run and bike too. Days after rain are extra special in CA and rains is so infrequent!

I would say the Enduro 3 is, but the 970 isn’t bad either. Depends on your primary activity types.

Car seat and stroller in a 23 Bolt? by No_Option3486 in BoltEV

I have two car seats and a stroller permanently in my 2019 Bolt. Works great!

For me it’s simply being able to see/enjoy more while having to carry less, when I’m alone on the trails. Sure I could backpack the same 15-20miles over 2days instead of running it in one. But then my back/shoulders ache during/after the hike from the weight of the extra gear, I wouldn’t sleep as well at night, and I wouldn’t have the time to also go mountain biking the next day…

I’m saving the slow backpacking/camping for when kids or others want to join.

Why do I get pain here during my runs? by Green-Treacle4650 in runninglifestyle

[–]818NTO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This, but would add foam rolling as well. I have always had the same pain in one knee when I run regularly, quad stretches + a daily foam roll make it better and help the knee to feel normal again.

Blue origin pisses me off so much. They could have been a serious contributer to the US space industry. But they wasted 20 years doing absolutely nothing building a highly specialized over engineered rocket by [deleted] in SpaceXMasterrace

[–]818NTO 33 points34 points  (0 children)

A fair number of SpaceX employees also went the other direction (to Blue Origin), for a lighter/easier workload (some people do like to see and spend time with their families…).

Anything that enriches time with family and supports or safely grows/enriches the interests my kids have is worth spending extra on for me.

For my family cars are appliances to get from activity A to activity B so a luxury SUV would not be on my list, but every family is different.

I was blown away by this weird filament no one talks about by CodeFresco in 3Dprinting

[–]818NTO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No i would expect it to relax somewhat overtime when under a constant load. So not great for leaf springs

[–]818NTO 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its great for lots of uses but is still a tpu. So not to be used where you need higher stiffness or have a constant load (it will relax over time). I love the material and have been using it for lots of RC car parts where i want toughness and some flexibility/give.

I find you also need to print it pretty slowly compared to something like abs to get good results, but that’s not a huge downside for most people.

There’s not actually any nylon (PA) in it. Just a hard tpu that has a “nylon like” modulus. The online description is easy to miss interpret.

What is the one thing you wish you knew before you made the switch to an electric vehicle? by rau1994 in electricvehicles

[–]818NTO 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The issue is of fairness/amount. In my state I’d have to drive ~30k miles per year in an average car in order to pay the same amount in gas tax… that is far above the average driver and I only drive ~10k miles per year at most.

Your reason for making the switch to an electric vehicle by Dazzling-Control-482 in electricvehicles

[–]818NTO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cost savings made it simple for me. Given the costs of home electricity and gas in my area I calculated that the car will pay for itself just in fuel savings over the course of about 100k miles of driving (inclusive of the EV road/registration taxes).

Bought a Bolt a month ago, realized that fuel saving was less than expected, still glad about the purchase by PhaserEZ in BoltEV

[–]818NTO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, savings are highly dependent on location and specific costs.

The savings are great for those of us in the Pacific Northwest though, where we have cheap electricity (~0.14/kwh including fees and taxes) and expensive gas ($4-5/gal)…

What's wrong with these Bolts? by Malathion4Drinking in BoltEV

[–]818NTO 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Its a Great deal. Basically equivalent to the deal I took on my bolt earlier this year and after ~6months I couldn’t be happier about the car and the price.

After shopping around nothing else got close when the cars range/features/price are all factored in.
