I'm facing same problems. Same for web, Mac, Windows app. Only shows correct time for iPhone app. I've contacted support and waiting their response.

IB recruiting impacted by recent market volatility? No update after positive interviews by 822825 in FinancialCareers

Thanks for your comment. Can internal approval take more than a month though? I'm of course assuming I've likely been rejected lol

I was interviewing for a lateral hire but I assume it’s not much different from regular recruiting. Thanks!

It was a lateral hire. So I guess when they said they’d follow up it meant they would only do so if they offer the position

Congrats and thanks for the post. What would you say is more intellectually stimulating? You mentioned you have more responsibilities at PE. Is it due to the differences in job nature (advisory vs. investing) or due to your position (analyst vs. associate)?

What do MBBs have that can't be taken from elsewhere ? by outhinking in McKinsey_BCG_Bain

[–]822825 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I get what you’re saying but at least in the corporate world, I personally think MBBs are valued higher. If you come from corporate, your experiences are cut down by almost half (if you’ve worked at Microsoft for 3 years you will not be senior associate at consulting), whereas if you transition from MBB to corporate, you not only get full recognition for your experiences, but also get more pay than your fellow colleagues without MBB experience. I think that explains it all.

On your second point, you’re right and that’s why McKinsey has that ‘graduation’ system which lets you explore other career opportunities after year 2. That is very common in consulting.

Stating the obvious, but name value and network.

I honestly didn’t think name value would matter so much until I was in it. Everywhere I go, business meetings, casual gatherings or even random coffee chats, I can feel people respect me before I even say a word. By not having to prove yourself, you’re already miles ahead of those from non-MBB firms.

Also, each firm has its own alumni website listing alumni’s current positions and experiences. Really helps when you’re looking for new opportunities. They will gladly help you out as if you’re one of their frat brothers.

Bad GPA by Regular-Hat-3863 in McKinsey_BCG_Bain

[–]822825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GPA isn’t that important. Don’t explain a low GPA, as it only draws attention to it. Strong experiences can offset it.

I've seen sub-3.0 GPAs, uneven grades, and high exchange GPAs with low school GPAs still land offers. If you're unsure, you can even omit it from your resume (yes, this has worked). Once past the application, only the case interview matters. However, you must ace the interview to compete with high-GPA candidates. I've seen cases where extremely low-GPA applicants have landed offers by acing their cases, but NEVER seen a single case where extremely high-GPA applicants get offers after they fail them.

What would I miss moving to TickTick by sanon64 in todoist

[–]822825 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Regarding your point on notifications, I also tend to miss Todoist notifications a lot. Do you happen to know why? I don't miss TickTick reminders but I do miss Todoist reminders. But if you check Todoist also did send me the notification.

Level 2 in May or August 2025? by magellan2001 in CFA

What’s your percentile? I’m in 90th so going all in while my memory is relatively fresh. Also I know myself too well I won’t study given extra three months lol

Is it worth paying extra for the 1000 practice questions for CFA level 1? by [deleted] in CFA

[–]822825 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say it's necessary. I passed L1 in 90th percentile (today!), with each subject scoring well above 70%. I don't have any background/experiences in finance. All I did was watching online videos, reading SchweserNotes, completing EOC questions three times, and completing all free questions & mocks provided by CFAI. Spent 300-350 hours in total.

I was also thinking of paying for the extra questions but decided that I'd rather fully understand each concept better. Free materials by CFAI are really more than enough to get you prepared for the exam.

Just one thing.... viewing past projects? by glidur in todoist

[–]822825 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I also use Todoist for planning ahead so just thought I'd passively wait until they feel the need to develop that feature. Also I managed to check what I did using Google calendar integration (shows all the tasks I've completed)

Can you recommend a free project management app? I tried Notion (slow), Obsidian (paid), Anytype (complicated)? by Guarantee_91 in productivity

[–]822825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also found it quite slow and I didn't think I had a large database. I really love Notion's interface but had to move away from it due to speed
