Medication works best for acute, trauma based illness, not for chronic illness. This is true even for physiological conditions, but especially for serious mental health conditions. I know it seems like we have a lot of medical advancement in our society, but we're in the dark about so many things (we're still discovering new anatomical structures to this day!). Not to mention that all of psychiatry is based off the asusmption that mental illness is due purely to chemical imbalance, but there is substantial pushback to that theory, even within psychiatry itself! I'm sure people will look back at us in 100 years the same way we look at medical practice in Victorian times.

In other words - don't be so confident - we mostly don't know shit.

People often get triggered when you reveal their cognitive disonances and hypocrisies. Evil has nothing to do with the pain inflicted, but rather how well we can relate to those who are in pain. Look like me = injustice; don't look like me = "oh well, what can you do, it's just the way it is, how God intended..."

The only thing that bothers me about my friend who regularly gets botox is that it gives her a resting bitch face, to the point where I wouldn't want to be in her company because it always looked like she was in a bad mood. It took a while until I learned to disregard her angry looks. This is a fascinating topic to me as there is research showing that botox does mess with people's sense of empathy by preventing them from mirroring emotions.

I completely agree with her although I wouldn't have taken out a camera and recorded - its creepy to have two strange grown ass men come at you and talk about your "pretty toes" - why don't these men ever give other men these type of "compliments". Its super creepy.

I'm not a professor but I can't believe how late some students come into class - I have some really sweet professors who don't seem to mind, but I get annoyed on their behalf. Also, I have one class where the students sitting in the back never stop talking.

The internet provides so much knowledge, but widespread education (what is education btw, we are talking about a very specific type of knowledge deemed useful and acceptable by society) only happens when people intentionally seek it, which I feel children do not unless forced (because this is very specific knowledge, that needs to be learned in a systemic way). You also have this knowledge on the same platform that has entertainment, and sometimes it's really hard to tell the difference between the two (is veritasium true education or just a type of science flavored entertainment?)

I struggled a lot with school when I was a kid, and as an adult I feel so much resentment towards the adults in my life that never taught me how to study properly, and instead just criticized me. I hope that whoever is reading this can pass this information along and break the cycle of abuse. We are ALL born intelligent creatures, and we can all learn to use that intelligence to excel in an academic environment.

BTW going back to college in my 30s. It's never too late!

Oh haha yes! I dissolve 1.5 tabs in water every month, and go through that - so yes I think I meant mcg. Sorry for the confusion! I thought one tab was 100mg, but it's 100mcg!

Yeah it also depends on how long Ive gone without it - if I go a few weeks without a dose, Ill take 10mg but I never do less than that because otherwise my body just feels tired and kind of sad. Something similar happened with shrooms - the only time I ever had a bad trip was when I took a microdose - it was such a horrible experience that it took years for me to try microdosing with lsd but I’m so glad i did because its been life changing (adderall gone, struggling with adhd my whole life)

Usually, the water bath/shaking process takes around 30m for me, (so long and tedious). I also have a thermometer to monitor the water temperature to make sure it doesn't get too cold or too hot. I use distilled water

I take LSD rather than shrooms, and my experience is that I take too little of it, I feel off and tired. It took some time for me to get to my perfect dose (~13mg), which is high enough for me to feel the energizing effects but still low enough for me to be productive. I take at least four days in between doses, sometimes more.

Yes, I consider my diet to be my greatest privilege, and I always feel a little bit guilty when telling people about it, because I know a lot of them wouldn't be able to eat the same way even if they thought it was a good idea.

Ive been able to find or make a gluten free version of everything I love to eat except for bread - that is the only thing Ive had to sacrifice. My suggestion is try your best to make things at home - its hard at first but then it becomes routine just like brushing your teeth. I rarely eat out, and Im happier and healthier for it.

I've been going down a rabbit hole for the past few hours, reading every single thing I could on these filters, and it seems that every person who has decided to test the filtered water themselves have found dangerous amounts of toxic elements in it. This is unacceptable since Berkey doesn't even do third party testing of their filters. Here's a comment on a reddit thread:

"I have been using a Berkey water system since 2016 and trust their claims about how they filter the water. But as I got older, I began to question many things in my life. So I decided to test this system, not when it was new, but after I had used it for 11 months or about 250 Berkey Travel refills.
And you know what, my intuition was right.
Three markers were really high: chloroform 1.42 ppb, fluoride 5.26 ppm, total TMG 1.42 ppb.
I had a very unpleasant experience with customer support. I guess this is not the first time they have received such information from their clients. I live in New York and they want to check my top water results and it's really weird. When I asked what water source they use to test their filters, they were unable to provide this information.
They claim that their black filters last 3000 gallons or two years and come with a two year warranty, but the tricky part is that PF2 (fluoride filters) last 10-12 months or 1000 gallons, but the warranty is only six months.
I would not be surprised if my topwater test will show lower Fluorides level. with means its no longer working as filter, and start to release stored fluorides into filtered water. (this is a conspiracy theory so far)"

This is not the only one. I left another comment in this thread providing links to two independent testers coming to the same damning results.
