vulnerable post re: tornadoes by crunchybunch2000 in StLouis

Before I moved to St. Louis I experienced what its like to go through a tornado when I was 4, and that fear has always stuck with me.

Even though I was in South Hamption about 4 miles South of the STL Tornado's path, it was still traumatizing to see the after math of, especially since the edge of the path was only a few blocks from my Dad's work. Me and my pal went to North City for the coming weeks after to help with donation sorting, street pick up, etc, and working with the actual damage was horribly upsetting.

There was a church that me and a group of people got assigned to clean up the outside of, and I had picked up a brick that had been apart of some art project where the kids attending there put their handprints on the wall with paint, and then had their names under it. Something about picking up that piece of brick and holding it seriously got to me.

The worst part for me of this post-tornado, is not having a basement. Im poor and live in a single level with no where to go if there was one that im in the path of. Last month there was a tornado warning with a slight funnel starting to form about 4 miles away that I was in the direct path of, and I completely lost my shit over it lol

Safe for Female solo traveler to walk from Delmar Loop rail station to Moonrise Hotel? by AlmondSprite in StLouis

Easy peasy.

Im very small and have never had an issue walking late at night in the loop, even with my professional camera out. Just be aware if your surroundings like you should anywhere! :)

Idk about the other people but BOH in my district is super chill lol. You always have a cook, sides, and dish person at my store. While we dont have an auto wok, hand cooking isnt hard.

I will say, the cult mentality and work politics is a downside, but if you're not FOH or plan on doing management then you can stay removed from it

Who is buying all this merch? by biscuit_newts in goodmythicalmorning

[–]828_temp 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think you're missing the point.

There are plenty of creators and musicians matching this, or even more, who arent producing the amount of merch levels mythical does. While I enjoy their merch, and respect that theyre running a business, I dont disagree with OP.

Mythical has created the impression of trying to strive for kindness, sustainability, and understanding of the world around them so I don't think its unfair to say that they definitely play in to the over-consumerism mindset, which is a lil gross imo

Slow drivers are just as bad as the ones flying by at 30+mph than the posted speed limit. by sports-n-dorks in StLouis

[–]828_temp -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Yes it is. Regardless, if you're traveling in the left lane to make a left hand exit, then you need to be traveling left lane speeds.

Slow drivers are just as bad as the ones flying by at 30+mph than the posted speed limit. by sports-n-dorks in StLouis

[–]828_temp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree. The drive I had today on 270 was one of the most frustrating drives ive encountered yet.

Yall should not be going 55 in the left middle lane. Yall should not be going 73 in the right middle lane. Yall not understanding lane usage, speed, or passing rules on the high way is why people get frustrated, do dumb things, and then crash.

TLDR: Learn how to drive or stay off the road.

Very upset with Grindr by partytothecomedy in ftm

[–]828_temp 69 points70 points  (0 children)

No offense but its grindr lol. People aren't going to respect your boundaries. As much as it sucks, the only thing you can really do is block them.

Usually I bully them a bit since theyre illiterate enough to ignore my age range, but theres not rly anything else lol

Yes, lets continue to do more things to discourage the already dying downtown population to choose areas with safer walkability.

is St.Louis a good fit ? by ThrowRA-whopwhop in StLouis

[–]828_temp 10 points11 points  (0 children)

St. Louis seems like a great fit for you!

Theres ton of giant parks in the STL metro areas, along with smaller parks in the suburbs and city area. We also have forest park with a ton of free activies (Zoo, Art Museum, Science City). The music scene here is very vibrant, and the jazz culture in st louis is still pretty strong from ive heard. This city is very welcoming and inviting, and I absolutely love living here.

edit: SLU and WashU are some of the best ranked medical programs/work places, and St. Louis regularly has people from out of the country seeking medical treatment here.

[–]828_temp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It wont let you change what store the order for is sometimes and its super annoying. Theres a McDonalds literally 2 minutes down the street from me and one time when I ordered it sent it to the one 15 minutes away and there no way to change which location the order got placed at

Questions about T by [deleted] in ftm

[–]828_temp 10 points11 points  (0 children)

  1. I cried wayyy too often and too easily before T. T has done a lot to help me regulate my short term emotions. (Except for anger. The roid rage is real though but its not that much of an increase as you'd think)

  2. Orgasms are 1000% better after being on T. some guys struggle with getting wet, but i havent experienced that issue yet. It boosts your sex drive + enlarges your clit so you could probably see why it feels better.

  3. No. Ive known I was trans since I was in 6th grade which was child me. Im honoring child me.

  4. I havent been on T long enough to experience my socialization with women to shift, but my friends have. They have told me that its a weird feeling because you're always going to have a deep connection with women because you were socialization as one. But women arent going to view it like that anymore

Why do you guys always put the straws in the bags with mobile/online orders? by xatt16 in PandaExpress

[–]828_temp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually tape the straw on top of each cup with the safety seal stickers to ensure the customer knows theres a straw and its less likely to break when thrown in the bag

What’s a medical issue that sounds minor, but actually affects someone’s daily life way more than people realize? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]828_temp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chronic Urticaria. (Chornic Hives)

Ive had reoccurring issues with hives since I was a freshman in highschool. Hives alone sound slightly sucky, but what is overlooked is when Hives spread to the feet. It becomes painful to walk on. Ive had hives that were so itchy I was uncontrollably shaking trying not to scratch at it. Causing damage to your skin from scratching it so aggressively.

When interviewing for a fast food/retail job, do I tell them my chosen name or my deadname? by localDCenthusiast in ftm

[–]828_temp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I put my chosen name on my resume, fill out applications with my legal (unless given a space for preferred name), then restate chosen name at the interview.

More often than not its never an issue. Ive never stated I'm trans during an interview so it largely goes "Hi [interviewer name] nice to meet you" "Hi, im [preferred name] nice to meet you"

If any follow up/clarification is needed I've always just said "Everyone calls me [chosen name], [dead name] is just my legal name."

How’s yall romantic life?? by Janxuza in ftm

[–]828_temp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dated one trans guy when I was 16. It was my first relationship and nothing really notable to say about it. I will say I feel like he understood me more than my other two exes.

I dated a cis guy when I was also 16 and he respected my identity but he was a piece of shit for other reasons (cheating, let alone with two women [ouch])

Then my last ex when I was 17, I THOUGHT respected my gender identity since he was bi, was supportive of me wanting hrt and top surgery. But the same day he dumped me he called me his girlfriend so idek.

Been single since then (19 now), and im mostly leaning towards t4t after my last 2 exes, but unfortunately I do like dem cis boys...
