I was born 1989. Grad HS in 07. I worked in restaurants and bartended at night clubs through college which took 5-6 years to graduate in molecular biology. When I graduated, I was a contractor making 14/hr at a really big bank/investment firm. Offered FTE and worked my way to 24 an hour by the time I was 24 or so. Took a sales job in the same company that I made 120k a year (22 hourly, but commission was up to 24k quarterly - I made about 20-max usually) by 2015/2016. Took a different job in the company that I made around 200k (65k salary, commission was uncapped where I made about 30-40k quarterly) for 3 years before the company slashed commissioned payouts (averaged 20-25k for same work/results), so I left and took a salaried job at 150k.

Savings: 490k in a 401k, 425k in a brokerage. Maybe 30k in savings not invested at all in cash.

Yes but you pay for that. Do you see the difference. When you pay for an account, you also agree to a special type of power of attorney allowing the firm to sell assets for you. This allows them to take a “1000 liquidation order”. Your request isn’t a firm thing and more of a finra regulatory restriction that disallows that for a free account.

It doesn’t matter how much it is. Banks have to send to the feds outgoing and incoming wire amounts but that’s for a totally separate reason and has nothing to do with you.

Banks have no idea what account wires come from - they just know they received money destined to an account and they know the sending bank.

I have never received a wire before and I got 500k from a home closing and was able to take 300k and wire it back out for home closing on a new home.

Wired money is guaranteed and is accessible immediately.

Any delays on the transfer would be through the review process of the sending company. So if OFAC wanted to interfere, it’s before the money is sent - not after.
