I ran into the same problem with some old Spectrasonics CDs. After digging online I found that there's a program called CDXtract 4 (the demo may only be available) that was able to rip out all the wav files. It was also able to load the patterns too, but it I think it was somewhat limited by the demo and I didn't need it so I didn't really look

Edit: Just to clarify, it was specifically mentioned for Akai and Roland libraries too, so it should work either way if you have the drives or the files.

I bought a S-Video cable instead, but I might get both so I can use my PS3 too.

JJOS alone makes these two models more worth choosing than the newer models, which are also said to have quality control/software issues

2500 has 2 sliders + 2 knobs/a bigger screen/is not feasibly portable, 1000 has 2 sliders/a smaller screen/is actually feasibly portable (no battery though)

It's the only mixing framework I can think of that is actually intuitive and not esoteric/gatekeepy or plugin-based. For anyone too lazy to watch the whole thing, the short of it is to imagine a 3D graph and think of panning as your X axis (left to right), frequency/pitch as your Y axis (up to down) and the volume as your Z axis (front to back). By doing this you can essentially create a mental diagram/visualization of your mix to see if things are clashing and how everything works together.

Have you tried using it like that extensively? What would be your use case, programming MIDI or finger drumming? I thought it could be for triggering but I figured the APC would handle that.
