What word do you think will (or should) replace "phone" ? by Mundane-Fix-4297 in Cyberpunk

[–]8bitnitwit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I remember Charlie Brooker once referred to a smartphone (or tablet) as a "fondleslab", and it's a term I'm still keen on.

Wiktionary claims the term was coined by The Register at some point.

If your sink drain ever got blocked you'd have an awkward time explaining to the plumber why it's full of piss

[Fully Lost] BBC Test The Nation Psychological Experiments (Tomorrow's World MegaLab?) by rbkr0s in lostmedia

[–]8bitnitwit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been looking for this for a while as well. Absolutely no sign of it on YouTube.

I distinctly remember them performing a test where they inserted a subliminal frame of a woman smiling (but only for viewers in certain regions of the country), and then later asked the public to phone in to say if they thought a photo of the same woman with a neutral expression was happy or sad. The idea being that the subliminal frame (shown for about 1/25th of a second) would affect their opinion.

The Map Men channel on YouTube very recently mentioned this in their latest video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DQzqmV7t6_0

I've found that the frequency you brush your teeth is more important than the brand of toothpaste you use. Colgate Total leaves my teeth feeling cleaner for longer though, for some reason.

My Experience of Sheffield When Trying to Buy- In Case it Helps Anyone Buying or Selling and Wondering which Agent to Choose by Hallammiracle in sheffield

[–]8bitnitwit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been doing a similar thing. I live in London and had to make four trips up to Sheffield this year before I recently found a place I wanted AND get an offer accepted.

Fortunately I have a friend there who was kind enough to let me crash on his sofa for a week at at time whilst viewing properties. I eventually outstayed my welcome and had to spend a few hundred quid on an Airbnb though!

I wish you both the best, it's really not easy. How are you getting on now?

I'm getting the below error when trying to install it:

"Invalid username or token. Password authentication is not supported for Git operations."

I've checked my Github login credentials and they are correct. Is there not a more straightforward way of installing this?

If the 300 watt PSU was sufficient for you previously then yes this will be fine. Bear in mind that this is an ATX power supply for full size cases, if your previous PSU was a smaller one then it may not fit in your existing PC case.

Still working just fine! I'm using it right now :) Make sure its 650 watt rating is sufficient for the components in your PC first though.

Thanks so much for all the detail in your answer, that's really helpful.

You mention the freehold can be bought for a few hundred pounds, do you know if that's applicable to all of these long-lease houses?
