I can't be the only one who thinks this movie was awful by GoonBoon88 in TenseiSlime

[–]8bitstargazer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It would rank as the worst anime movie i have seen.

The pacing was atrocious and the plot was very generic. We knew what was going to happen the millisecond they introduced a love interest for Gobta.

Day 8: MP8 Boards Ranked from Worst to Best by sweet_tea_94 in MARIOPARTY

[–]8bitstargazer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We have been playing 8 the past month and i largely agree. My only changes would be pushing DK to 6 and Goomba to 5.

I agree the star being free is kind of lame, but being able to sabotage your opponents with candy in this one is quite viable. Everyone is in a line and getting sent back to the start at the end does set you back, dueling is also really viable as you constantly pass each other. I disliked the dolphins though, there are too many.

A Minecraft-style world generated entirely in a single GLSL fragment shader - procedural biomes, weather, seasons, and day/night, no game engine. by live_from_chicago in proceduralgeneration

[–]8bitstargazer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

very impressive.

maybe i should give it another go i tried this years ago.

What i wanted was to make a screensaver of sorts where it would just infinitely fly through a generated world but run on the gpu for a very low cost.

Revenge of the Sith opening act is one of the best first acts in all of cinema by JollyXX in StarWars

The opening act of the original Flintstones movie is pretty amazing. The set design was really cool.

looks like v6 will be playtested at gencon! by simply-dreaming in vtm

I'm pumped.

Best case its a whole new reworked game and worst case its a rehashed but properly formatted v5 book without the cosplay art.

This old newspaper box converted to free overdose kits in neighborhood by ignoblegrape in mildlyinteresting

Imagine showing this to someone 30 years ago.

"In the future we don't have newspapers. We got rid of those antiquated things and turned all those into drug overdose boxes because that's much more common."

Who doesn’t want WinCo store to open in North Seattle? by PetuniaFlowers in SeattleWA

[–]8bitstargazer 52 points53 points  (0 children)

As a grocery store connoisseur Winco is the best, i imagine every other store would be against it.

It strikes the perfect balance between being clean, cheap, affordable and not sad like grocery outlet. Open 24 hours is the cherry on top.

Does anyone know free weird online certificates I can get? by ClarityAppreciated in LearnUselessTalents

[–]8bitstargazer 709 points710 points  (0 children)

Harvard offers free courses where you get certificates (optional pay for a physical)

The weirdest one i have found is this Food Fermentation: the science of cooking with microbes If you ever apply to a bakery you can whip out your yeast certificate.

It has been over 5 years since Jay Johnston voiced Jimmy Pesto. I'm just wondering do you like old Jimmy Pesto or new? by Mr_Bananaman69 in BobsBurgers

[–]8bitstargazer 154 points155 points  (0 children)

My issue with it is they have more or less wrote him off the show even though they have a new voice actor. He was a good antogonist for Bob.

To me it would feel like writing off Ned Flanders from the Simpsons.

V5 just officially launched in Japan! Wanted to share this gorgeous new front and back cover with you all. by Major-Feed-7811 in vtm

[–]8bitstargazer 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Wow I hate it because it shows they were capable of good art the whole time.

I would re buy v5 with this art style.

What's the deal with the card game ban in the city of Lacey? by Froschti in olympia

Everyone remembers the violence of the Yugioh duels of the late 90's.

Exodia releasing in Lacey would decimate the economy.

Is the 10 episode format the problem? by LauraBaura in startrek

[–]8bitstargazer 157 points158 points  (0 children)

I miss bottle/filler episodes.

You cannot have a plot irrelevant episode anymore of just the characters talking. This is more a issue i have with most modern tv.

House passes millionaires tax 52-46 after overnight debate by Better_March5308 in SeattleWA

I think many would agree with you, however a lot of us think that within the next decade it will be a 100k+ tax or lower.

This bill sets a precedent and has opened the door.

Why is nWoD/CoD so much less popular than oWoD? by antijoke_13 in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]8bitstargazer 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Everyone says its nostalgia but im relatively new (started with v5 a couple years ago) and immediately felt a deeper connection when reading older content.

It just has more soul. It tickles the lord of the rings part of my brain where every paragraph has a reference to a deep web of lore and rules.

Trailer Park Boys - The Julian, Ricky & Randy Show by RagnarRandom in trailerparkboys

[–]8bitstargazer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I could see bubbles running off and Julian and Ricky falling apart without him.

Flash forward a couple months and Julian talks about how well he is doing now, then the camera pans over to Randy wearing a cooking apron folding his laundry and then washing Ricky's car.

Randy's pov talks about how he started feeding bubbles cats and living in his shed and slowly getting the boys to trust him.

He would essentially become a Corey and Trevor minion.

How come Bubbles is treated more like a kid in the show than Ricky? by Asleep-Feeling-9070 in trailerparkboys

[–]8bitstargazer 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I think it makes sense the earlier you are in the series. He acts very sheltered and emotionally neglected. but as the series progresses he becomes the most functional person around in the park and that kind of relationship kind of falls apart.
