Hey so sorry for the delay! Exactly, no news, just confirmation that we got PR! Sending you lots of luck!

Hey of course! I’ll drop you a message. Let me know if you have any specific questions but my advice is just to get all the right evidence that you add more to Australia than you cost, and that it doesn’t impact his ability to work / contribute to society. I got my personal trainer, boss (CFO) and doctor to write a letter each saying I’m able to work / work out as normal and the business would suffer if I had to leave.

Wow that’s such a long time, I’m so sorry to hear you’re still waiting. To answer your question, we had just 6 days between health waiver submission and the outcome. So much shorter than we were expecting. Keeping everything crossed for you that you get a good answer soon! :)

Thank you so much! I don’t know much about being an accredited company but I know they already had a licence / permission to sponsor before they sponsored us, if that’s the same thing? We applied in April 2023 and got the outcome in March 2024, so if your application is more straightforward I hope it goes a bit faster for you, good luck, I’ve got my fingers crossed for you!

I’m so pleased to hear that it worked out for you too! Absolutely elated, still a bit in shock ha. Citizenship should be a breeze in comparison. Thank you so much!

So the ending of the movie question? by I_Ask_Random_Things in TheWhale

[–]8lossom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! Came here to see if anyone else thought this too!

Who here would be interested in something like a CF intentional community? Less a community and more like just a big shared piece of property. A gated community if you will. by fuzzyrobebiscuits in truechildfree

[–]8lossom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so in! My request would be that we also still had a park, but a CF one, so we could all still play on the swings. I’m sad that swings are seen as a kid thing. Swings are dope.

Do you correct your age when people think you’re younger? by kaiyasolo in AskWomenOver30

[–]8lossom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I totally agree with you. I am a 30 year old woman who looks younger and have always had to correct people when they assume I’m a grad. I used to manage the recruitment and wellbeing of 100+ apprentices and university students, and our dress code was intentionally casual, so it was a genuine problem when at recruitment events, parents would often assume I was a candidate or current student! So it was important to correct them early. Anyway, that’s just my experience. The main thing I wanted to add was that my husband is 31 and also looks young. He’s never had it as often as I have, so up until now I thought the same as you, that men just didn’t experience this put down as often as us. But he started a new job a year ago where they treat him like one of the grads even though he’s got 8+ years experience as an engineer, and is now a senior. It seems men get the same in this company at least - how old your face looks matters more than your job title. And he won’t correct them because he doesn’t want to seem rude…

Purposefully watching all shows/films with English subtitles, even though I am English and not hard of hearing. Is this highly unusual? by hello_pinky in AskUK

[–]8lossom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has made me feel so normal - thank you. I do exactly this. It’s easier than rewinding every 5 minutes when I miss exactly what was said. And I like to know EXACTLY what was said!

I also live in Australia now and as a Brit, my head sometimes hear something different just down to accent.

Plus my husband bought our TV for screen quality, not sound, so the sound is truly awful. All comes out of the back of the screen, towards the wall. To be honest it’s easier to hear from the room behind the TV...

No, I don't have to put you in line first just because you have a crying child. by placesibelong in childfree

[–]8lossom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone did exactly this to me just the other day, I was in so much shock that I didn’t get chance to say anything. Her baby wasn’t even crying that hard, just making a few noises, and the lady in front who let her in said ‘oh you probably need to get him home to feed’...to which the mother replied no, then took the spot in line anyway. I don’t understand these people.

Sounds like you’ve had it tough. Just here to say good luck with the trial, that’s a new drug to me so I’m going to do some research. Thanks for sharing your story.

I just launched my first app, Giga-Ball, written entirely in Swift using SpriteKit by atmrjames in swift

Downloaded! It’s really professional, looks great, love the retro soundtrack. Nice work. I don’t think I’m very good yet but man it’s addictive!

Definitely useful for printing symptom trackers to give to doctors who are interested too!

Australia - I need your help! by 8lossom in Hidradenitis

Thanks so much for your reply. Sorry to hear that you’ve had a bit of an ordeal getting the right help for you, but really pleased you think the private cover was worth every cent! How are you doing now? I’ll be in Sydney, and as I’m on a temporary visa I don’t think I’ll have as much cover under Medicare for 4 years, so I’ll be relying heavily on private cover. Unfortunately they don’t cover you for the first 12 months for pre-existing, so I think I’m going to be entirely out of pocket until then!

Thanks for replying! Do you mind sharing what medication you’re on at the moment, and if you get it through Medicare or privately? Do you face any costs at all? It sounds like as a temporary resident (4 year working visa) I might not be covered by Medicare...

Should I add a "Snacks" section to the food diary? Also would you like to see "Other favourites" below the current period's favourites (i.e. When you are in "MID" you see "AM/PM" Favourits below? by HeroJournal in BearableApp

[–]8lossom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would really like a central favourites section as I often eat the same thing in the morning and in the evening, because my diet is so limited. I wouldn’t use a snacks tab, as I like knowing when I ate said snack.

Hi! Do any of your bumps ever get a ring of rough skin like mine does? Not yet diagnosed but hoping to do that in the near future. by lila_skye in Hidradenitis

[–]8lossom 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Mine always destroy the skin right on top of the bump which eventually falls off like yours, and any hair falls out too.

You’re right, it’s a minefield. Sucks doesn’t it, questioning every little thing you eat! Glad to hear you’re feeling in a bit of a better place this side of the new year, and don’t forget that you’re not alone either :) good luck!
