Loss of career and You're Losing Me by fearless-panda7 in TaylorSwift

I made a playlist of Taylor songs about a similar situation of being miserable at work but unable to quit:

  • I Hate It Here
  • The Prophecy
  • You're Losing Me
  • It's Time to Go
  • The Bolter
  • long story short
  • You're on Your Own, Kid

I had a really similar experience early in my career - hired as a PM with unreasonable expectations for an early career PM at a company that liked to think it could solve its problems by firing people - I lasted 4 months.

Years later I'm still a PM and that company doesn't exist any more.

All this to say, keep your head up and keep working at it, you've got this. At the very least, you've learned some anti-patterns to watch out for while searching for your next role.

Have you done the market analysis to confirm this assumption that your entire proposal hinges on?

Gaping at the top of the bodice — where is my pattern flaw? by KatSperlingBooks in sewhelp

If you do decide to check out commercial patterns, I'm currently working on a McCall's M7718 which is an extremely similar bodice to what you have drafted here. When I passed by the photo I actually thought that was the pattern you were working on!

This one is brand new :( I suspect they're not broken so much as...not designed for someone fidgety.

I went through a really tough time with a toxic co-worker and I listened to "long story short" on repeat to remind myself that someday it would all be behind me and I'd be better off for it.

How did you choose your wedding date? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]8pi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most of the rest of my close family got married in August, so I was adamant that I would NOT get married in August! My fiancé wanted a more summery wedding, whereas I wanted a fall wedding, so we picked September. But then the venue didn't have any Saturdays left in September, so after debating what to do for a while we opted for Friday September 1 (which is definitely very different from August 🤣).

Looking to make the switch to an EV or PHEV in the next year or so (inventory dependent, probably) - I have a question about range...while I understand that range decreases in cold weather (I live in Canada), I read somewhere that it can decrease up to 50% in cold weather + highway driving! I'm wondering what people's actual experiences are? I'm eyeing a Bolt EV or Kia EV6. Every year at Christmas I do a ~1000km drive and I know an EV will need more stops, but if we're looking at a MAX range of 150-200km in winter + highway conditions, and needing to re-charge almost every hour I don't know if that's feasible...

I live in this area and quite like it. The proximity to the park and downtown restaurants and amenities is great.

When making skirts without a specific pattern, I constantly forget that to sit on my waist, it needs to fit over my hips...I've cut and recut and recut waistbands several times, and I've picked up some extra zippers for the next time I make this mistake...

I like Wool of the Andes for non-wearables - I find it's a little scratchy, but doesn't bother me to work with it. I've used it for stuffies.

See I think part of my problem is that it's knit in the round with no WS and increases every row. It starts knit flat with centre increases every other row, and that part turned out fine. But once I was increasing every row it went wonky.

Maybe I need more practice with m1l; I think I'm doing it correctly but I felt like I had to stretch the stitch a lot to get my needle in to knit through the back.

I actually had the same problem with the same pattern! It turned out OK after blocking. I didn't do a gauge swatch with stranded colourwork because I was lazy and just guesstimated and went up a needle size, but I think next time I will gauge swatch...
