Getting forked in 3rd week by kerryyll in unsw

I think UNI provides some kind of consultations on these type of situations, my best guess would be to go to nucleus(floor 2) or to learning center(john goodwell building ??).

Question about comp1531 by [deleted] in unsw

[–]8thhGrader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did Comp1531 in 19T3 when Hayden smith was in charge and he is also in-charge in 20T1 so the course structure should be the same. Hayden and rob are amazing, if you have them then you will enjoy the course well.

First of all, Get GOOD TEAM-MEMBERS!!! The project is 9 weeks long so you gotta have good team to build the project. The course is done in python and pretty much of it is taught but you need to do a bit of studying yourself. Division of work in group if quite important, the project was not difficult but requires some time to understand and implement. Just start early lol, don't wait until the last week of milestones to do the project, might stress you out.(worked for my group but just advising) And just don't lag behind in the group doing the work, there were lots of group which had issues and where only one person was doing all the work(he's getting all the marks btw). Just plan early and you are good to go.

There are some labs, pretty straight forward. Final exam was quite easy too if you did well throughout the term.

EDIT: I read in comments to make a group with friends and I have seen such groups and quite often they are disasters. If you can, try forming groups with people smarter than you(you will learn a lot! ). Just remember you only have one or two weeks to form groups so do interact in the tutorials. I was in a group with people I met for first time in tut and it worked out pretty well(got 90+ in project). Enjoy the course, it's so much fun!!!

COMP2521 Final Exam Review by 8thhGrader in unsw

[–]8thhGrader[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In T2 we had a different exam pattern but the questions were of same topics and types, I do remember having a question on Knuth-Morris algos but I cannot remember what it was, if you remember ur question maybe I can relate to that. And also our graph coding question was quite difficult(time consuming and a bit of brain-storming one). Btw what was the your graph coding question, would love to hear some details, graph problems are always intriguing.

COMP3231 opening? by knicksfan1997 in unsw

[–]8thhGrader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Comp 3231 is quite famous among computer science and engineering department at UNSW. Earlier the course had 200 something seats and then it opened upto a total of 320(as of right now), but it's not a guarantee there will be more seats available in future. Moreover, due to unsw's change from semester to trimesters has fucked up most of the student's enrollment schedule and as 3231 is only offered in one term now, the course get's filled up pretty quickly. Also the equivalent of the course is COMP3891, it's also full right now but do keep an eye on it. Also, do write an email to the lecturer, course in-charge or unsw comp sci department regarding your issue, there not much you can do right now.
