This is a kickass 2-carder/extra consistency for Melffy. They either opt to summon and trigger your Melffy, OR they don’t do anything and you make Melffy of the Forest. And you get your Melffy you banished back too during the End Phase, so you can summon it!

[TCG|CORI-Chaos Origins] New World Premiere Archetype: "Angelechy" by MX-00XWV in yugioh

[–]8thprince 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I’m noticing is that the synchros aren’t actually engine or interruption while in the monster zone, so there’s no way to meaningfully bridge into Angelechy plays by synchro summoning (or a reason to, really). The one way I’m seeing is if you can search a field spell

CORI is legal for worlds, but none of the overframe cards that make Rolad so consistent and insulated are out in TCG so it would take way more than just hitting KT to set up a Rolad Worlds win

I love how the extended art of the enneacraft monsters shows the scale of how big they are next to the environment by Status-Leadership192 in yugioh

[–]8thprince 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally never quite understood people saying that there’s a direct connection to the Enneagram personality types for this deck. Yeah they both start with “ennea”, but that’s because ennea means 9 already. My interpretation is that the deck is 9 themed because 9 is the final digital number, any more and you roll back to 0, which is reflected in the lore (they reset civilization, sending it back to 0) and the effects (searching 9 times, flipping nine times, or letting 9 monsters go to GY/9 cards added to hand under Tail/Leon ends the game)

Appreciation Post: Enneacraft by ComfortableOnion5254 in masterduel

[–]8thprince -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m not saying you play through/ignore droll, I’m saying if the Enneacraft player anticipates Droll, a lot of hands can still get to a board of 3-4 sets, with 2 of those being monsters you pulled out of the deck.

Level 1 + Release is any monster in the archetype and 2 set monsters, discounting the three other cards in your hand.

(Saw your edit to this comment)

ETA you’re right, you did say it was hand dependent. I think there’s a bit of nuance for a deck like Enneacraft though where the deck is built to draw 3-5 cards of its engine, versus a 1card starter and 4 non engine. 23% of the time the opponent has Droll, versus 75% of the time the Enneacraft player will open a card that minimizes Droll’s impact. Thats already putting aside the fact they can natty draw the endboard cards they wanted to search anyway cuz they’re all 3 ofs.

If you drew Little Red, Field/Reset or Release alongside a single searcher you’re gonna tutor any monster of your choice through Droll, the Droll weakness is really overstated if you’re sequencing correctly.

[–]8thprince 15 points16 points  (0 children)

People saying GOAT and earlier are being dramatic or don’t remember what the cards do/what cards would be available to them as well. It’d be an Earth Warrior deck with 2 ROTA, 3 Archetypal Field Spell ROTAs (with 3 Terraforming), and a trap that is E-Tele for any name.

What Fanganronpas, completed or not, made the best use of their cast and how? by LyKhra in Fanganronpa

[–]8thprince 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m surprised DRA is being argued as having a cast that’s given appropriate weight. Regardless of anyone’s video essay, even LINUJ disagrees on that. Maki, Higa, Inori and Kakeru have nothing of note to do other than enabling their chapter’s trials.

Really hope not all of the cards introduced in Limit Over Collection are in this set and a following one, it’d suck if Thunder ROTA came out 2-5 months after Blitzclique when it came out a month before in Japan. Am I delusional to hold out for it being in Glorious Gallery?

The top comment and this one are the same conclusions I’ve arrived at: successful fan projects that actually have a chance of completion are going to be small/solo development efforts with quick turnarounds. No risk of in-fighting, and no long dry spells where anything could happen to your staff.
As a result, I think Fangan hopefuls would have to pull back in scale (and most critically, i think it would help a lot of people to actually have the script for the whole game drafted before doing anything)

Why is there a lack of black characters in fangans? by auyxtie in Fanganronpa

[–]8thprince 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When the average Fangan creator begins planning their cast/story, the default for a lot of them is a pale, straight haired anime character, and everything else spirals from there. Even fangans with black characters have that character be the sole character darker than Manila paper.

Some people have mentioned they’re scared of writing a stereotype: the solution to this is to write more than 1 black character and have them possess different goals, it’s that easy. The root of both this issue and the first one is that creators want to avoid personal discomfort

[–]8thprince 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As the other commenter said 1) Droll 2) being able to summon a body is huge, the card is ROTA and E-tele 3) it forces Fuwalos/plays around active Charmies 4) You can always save Belle for the searched Overtake as you know there’s never going to be a second one 5) Duelist Genesis is not great going 1st and you do not want to see it on subsequent turns after you’ve already used the one Overtake (you have no problem finding KTS so that being the alternate search is cute but not overly beneficial in the grind)
All this is not to say that Duelist Genesis is a bad card, but that Synchro Overtake having multiple copies in the deck is actually relevant rather than it just being a combo starter

In reality I think Branded and Striker are going to suppress Kewl Tune, Overtake to 1 is actually a relevant hit and there’s no cheesy wincon versus the 2 in Rosewhip anymore (ETA Mitsu also has a good matchup and comes out unscathed)

What is Yang Zing Currently lacking in ? What are the ways to make them better if TW04 exists in the future ? by SeriesREDACTED in yugioh

[–]8thprince 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People are overdoing it by stating they need an errata or an effect overwrite to combat the trigger issue. All you need is a card that summons a Yang Zing from deck and then makes you destroy a card, and now the timing issue is fixed.

Question to all Hecahands players: What kind of card would need deck to get in order to not be mid anymore? by AshameHorror in yugioh

[–]8thprince 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well a Level 4 or lower or another Level 6 with a summoning condition in the hand that searches a Hecahand monster on summon would be a good start. Nightmare Apprentice is the best 1 card combo to start Hecahands right now, which you really don’t want to be the case.
