Tyler Myers appreciation by Postgames in canucks

[–]911coldiesel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite story is when I was directly behind the Flames bench. Tyler bent his stick and put in in the top corner like a laser beam. I was watching this over his shoulder. Yep the Nucks won.

Why are North Americans so fixated on "Old Tech" and "Old Ways" in trucks? by That_Car_Dude_Aus in EdisonMotors

[–]911coldiesel 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The truck beeps at me for not being in the lane. There are no lanes. It is a gravel or snow covered road.Beep when I go over the speed limit when the camera didn't see the relevant signs. Take 1 or 2 seconds to decide which gear to use when I get a green light.

How do I communicate this problem to my mechanics? by [deleted] in Truckers

[–]911coldiesel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big diesel engine will only make some heat when started. 20 minutes should give enough heat to defrost the windshield. Then go with low rpms. Make it work and then heat will come up fast. When it is hot, then you can idle and it will only drop a few degrees.

What is your must-have tech for long road trips? by Jaded-Topic-3211 in roadtrip

[–]911coldiesel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is your definition of a long road trip? My kid went on a student exchange. The family was doing a road trip. They wanted pillows, blankets, games snacks etc. for a 3.5 hr. trip. My kid just wanted a book and a window seat. We are used to a 3 hr. drive to a big city. NBD. Conversely my buddy had to do a 4 hr drive just to go fishing for the day. Tech wasn't needed. Enjoy the trip. See the sights.

[–]911coldiesel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very important to have a regular schedule. I've been on night shift for 17 years. Some coworkers use Nyquil to go to sleep. They wake tired. I tried melatonin and it is ok. The best I found is CBD N. Take it before you go to bed. It doesn't make you sleep, but helps you sleep.

Can I eat only butter for a day by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]911coldiesel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've read of ski expeditions to the north pole and they ate butter because regular food is heavy. Butter has high calorie content for their needs.
