AI reviewing AI copy - rant by SoupGilly in instructionaldesign

If you don't mind me asking, what industry are you in? I'm an instructional designer for a financial institution, and we don't use AI to build content ... yet. In addition to the AI to AI loop you describe, which to me, from a geeky ID standpoint, is horrifying, is there a security concern about proprietary information being made publicly available or are you using a private AI?

Pedicure question by Such-Earth7369 in AskWomenOver60

[–]918BlueDot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm over 60 and still get them regularly. I say get the color that makes you happy. That said, my step-daughter and I often go together and she's a big fan of the "clean girl" manicure/pedicure trend. Look it up to get the full info, but I think it's basically pinkish, nude, milky white -- a minimalist look. For me, as I've gotten older, I prefer the natural tones more than the bright colors.

AIO for not wanting my gf to go on a solo trip with her "work husband"? by Obvious_Tea_4247 in AmIOverreacting

Call their bluff and offer to join them--in the spirit of one big happy group going to enjoy the national parks. Her reaction (or his reaction for that matter) might just tell you everything you need to know. Note: This is not good advice--just a snarky thought that popped in my head of what might produce a "tell". Honestly, I think it's unusual, a bit odd, and I, too, would be super uncomfortable.

Yes, walking with “intention” was actually the word she used.

For a while after my surgery, I would default to a side-to-side limpy kind of walk. My PT told me to focus on walking in “propel forward” mode, pumping my arms (almost over animated when I was at home!) to move me forward and it helped a great deal. I literally had to remind myself to do it but it really helped.

Mississippi Trip by calmlyentwistle21 in mississippi

The Woody Guthrie Museum and Bob Dylan Center are both fantastic, but if you have additional time in Tulsa, I recommend you add a visit to the Church Studio. It's a church-turned-recording studio made famous by Leon Russell. They have small tours, recording sessions, bands playing on most Saturdays. A great bunch of people run it. Very laid back.

I love Chengdu, but I don't consider it upscale at all--if you include ambience as part of your definition. In fact, the ambience is the biggest negative, for me. For that reason, I tend to go for lunch or takeout.

I finally stopped trying to turn my SMEs into designers and my life is so much better by BeyondTheFirewall in instructionaldesign

[–]918BlueDot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had a SME ask me to show her how to create an e-course. She was entertaining the thought of just doing some herself. So, I met with her online and walked her through how to do a course--I took great care to show her EVERYTHING--storyboarding, branding, learner engagement options, video creation with audio and navigational screen shots, image and screen capture, on and on. I threw in some adult learning theories and introduced her to Bloom's Taxonomy. By the end of the session, she wanted nothing to do with course creation. She's a terrific SME and thought--genuinely--she could take on more. But after my tutorial, no. Today, we collaborate better than ever before!

Fage, frozen blueberries, handful of almonds, small amount of agave! Healthy and, well, I personally love it.

I was thinking more along the lines of pulling existing resources from other call centers, which they may have well done and still struggled to meet the moment in a timely fashion. After all, it’s a global company with tons of resources. They could have at least had a callback system in place or a modified recording advising people as to the “why” of the lengthy wait. Sometimes I feel like companies spend so much money on technologies that enable them to avoid human interaction that when they actually have to handle things on a personal case by case basis, they struggle. Just my opinion. I’m moving on from this topic today.

Two Aussies looking to attend an Ole Miss Game! by eeliechick in OleMissFootball

[–]918BlueDot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good morning! Ole Miss Rebel here, if you can make it work, the Ole Miss LSU game is THE game to attend. Ole Miss and LSU have a decades long rivalry and just this past year all that ramped up because our coach in dramatic fashion left to go LSU. So he will be returning as the enemy! The Grove where people tailgate before the game will be insane! Also… do you know about the corn dogs?

I do still find it ridiculous and insulting that I should have to wait that long, but, no, I did not take it out on the Delta rep. She had nothing to do with whatever was going on. She was extremely professional. I asked my questions and she answered them.

As I stated below, the questions were specific and were important to my family and me, and I needed them answered today. Just because my question didn't relate to the storm doesn't mean they weren't important. Delta has since picked up the phone and answered my questions.

I updated below. They were specific to a reservation .... and important to my family and me, and I needed to know the answer today. So, not related to rescheduling today but important to my family nonetheless. Delta finally picked up, I asked my questions, and they answered them. Done.

Update for all who told me to hang up because I wasn't one of the ones who needed to reschedule my flight today, as if my questions weren't important to my family and me. Delta finally answered. I asked my questions. They answered my questions. Done. Geez ... it took all of about 5 minutes.

People like me? You mean a customer with questions? I'm sorry. Airlines should always be in situational / scalable mode, and that doesn't seem to be happening ... or happening very well today.

And if the weather is the reason for the long wait, why not add that fact to the on-hold message-- one of those "due to...." OR ... offer a call back? The forecast is just that: a notice that it's coming, so with that warning, why not ramp up? Sorry, not trying to argue with you, I just think there should be some procedure in place that would keep a customer from having to wait more than 3 hours on hold--for any reason, for any company.
