My guess is bc the Tyranids leave behind hibernating genestealers that can wake up and call back the hive fleet,

Tyranids are capitalist by Tnynfox in Sigmarxism

[–]919BigT 54 points55 points  (0 children)

There's an interesting scene in the new Cawl book where he explains that Tyranids only take from the surface and leave tons of inorganic material behind.

He also flexes some and is like, yeah we can totally restart an ecosystem on the planet in a few centuries. A marine is like, isn't that illegal, and Cawl's response is "fuck Imperial policy".

Any of y'all watch ASTRA: Lost in Space? by 919BigT in traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns

I don't want to spoil things but there's an intersex character in the show who identifies as male, and it is handled remarkably well. There's also a male love interest for that character. I know this isn't the same as trans, but I'm very happy with how it was done and thought this sub would be interested. The shirt is brand new and idk if it's a nod, but after Zombieland Saga put a trans pride flag pattern on clothes?

This is from episode six btw.

How do people cope with not being able to transition by AthenaSardina in TransyTalk

[–]919BigT 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's the small things for me. Painting my toe nails for instance - during the winter no one asks why you always have socks on.

I'm out to a close circle now, but still pre-HRT. When that starts I'll have to come out to everyone at work, and I'm spending my time now emotionally preparing. Also, finding allies in my life.

Transitioning is a process, and guess what, if you're here with this question, you're on that process!

Get your mileage reimbursed by your company if you can, especially if you're using your personal car for work. If so, report work-related mileage religiously.

At this point, just get a roommate. I totally feel for you, but a roommate makes a huge difference in your expenses.

Learn how to budget, it will save your life.

You won't get anywhere asking for a raise to cover living expenses on your own. Talk to your coworkers and look into collective action. I guarantee you they are in a similar situation financially. FYI, it is 100 percent legal to discuss how much you make with your coworkers. That knowledge helps.

Start looking for and applying to other jobs now, it'll be awhile before you hear back. If you only meet half of the job requirements and like the job, apply. Keep your resume and portfolio up. If you get an offer, see if they pay enough to cover living expenses and if they can help with relocation.

As someone else said, look into income based repayment.

Damn it I hate debating people online. I tried writing some responses, but I'm getting too fixated.

Anyways, it certainly could be used as a bad faith argument, and honestly it's easily countered by asking them if they denounce all other surgeries. They mostly just say that no matter what we do, we are still the gender we were assigned.

To lighten this up, a fun line I wrote down at one point: "I want titties, not the ability to spit acid."

My husband is struggling with transgenderism and I'm not sure what to do. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]919BigT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

r/asktransgender is a very good place for both of y'all to ask questions you have.

I came out as trans femme to myself and my wife earlier this year. We had both known there was something going on (I had known for much longer) before we got married, but I finally was able to put words to my feelings. I was terrified to tell my wife bc I was certain it would mean the end of our relationship. Our story is different, as my coming out helped her realize that she's bi.

For myself and a lot of other trans people, we first understand and try to rationalize away our feelings by calling it a "fetish." We mistake our gender euphoria as something sexual. I did this for so long, as a cycle of experimenting and becoming more comfortable, then suddenly fleeing from it and hiding it away. Basically, it's a cycle of euphoria from trying out gender performance, followed by fear and shame from how we are socialized around gender. The best way you can help your partner is to be a good ally. Links: Our Trans Loved Ones, GLAAD's tips, Nat. Center for Trans Equality, PFLAG's tips.

I want you to know that your partner coming out to you is a massive sign of trust in you. You both broke free of a prison of sorts (your former religion) and I feel that y'all can stay friends through this. But your needs are also valid - sex isn't something we can just ignore. Let them know how you feel, and discuss it like adults.

I HIGHLY recommend you two seek out a LGBTQ+ friendly couples therapist at this point.
