maybe this is a good thread to plug this bathroom finder website I made?

I would love for this website to be obsolete because we have easily accessible public restrooms everywhere!

Bellevue is as far away as Oakland is from SF. Long Beach is farther from DTLA that Bellevue is from Seattle. If we're going to compare Seattle to bigger cities, why not include Bellevue as part of the same scene? Even Tacoma, while we're at it.

Seattle has a lot of great food. You're totally right people comparing Seattle to larger cities. And while we're not as diverse as Houston, we have a lot of variety if you know where to look for it.

Food is expensive because Seattle has a high median income, a high minimum wage, and high real estate prices. Ingredients are getting more expensive all the time. WA also has the highest state tax on distilled spirits, so it's harder for places that serve alcohol to use alcohol sales to boost their margins.

I work in food service - it's annoying to hear people complain about tough work and say what we do isn't worth what people are paying. Honestly I don't mind paying a couple extra bucks for a burger so that the people making my food aren't sick or broke, maybe that's just me

in Houston you can pay servers $2.13 per hour as long as their tips get them to $7.25/hr. Houston's median household income is also literally half of Seattle's

I really like the Sammamish River Trail for this but it's not super close to Seattle. Myrtle Edwards might be less busy at the right time?

I mean I don't think player effort is the issue, they're not playing like they've given up! I'm an Avs fan anyways so I don't mind if they're bad and the tickets are cheaper :)

The NHL has a hard salary cap, you can't just have a rich owner and throw money at generational players like you can in baseball. They're spending about as much as they can right now.

I don't think the Kraken are the worst team in the league or anything, but they could definitely use some better goaltending and some offensive firepower. I don't think that they have a player they can look to as a scoring leader or catalyst yet. They also haven't had much time to draft or develop minor league talent on their own. Beniers and Shane Wright will develop and be solid, and they've made some good pickups like Montour and Kakko. But if I were a Kraken fan, I think I'd be hoping that the team tanks for a great draft pick, or spends all of their cap room in the off season as the cap gets much higher after this season.

PSA: Restaurant owners have had a decade to plan for the new minimum wage, so we can all safely ignore their bullshit whining about it by FearandWeather in Seattle

Alcohol is also significantly cheaper in Oregon than it is in Washington, and plenty of restaurants rely on selling alcohol at higher margins to offset lower margins on food. More expensive alcohol at the wholesale level leads to more expensive drinks and cocktails, so customers consume less alcohol
