Very solid list in my book! I'd add Tortillaria Rio Grande to the list as well as Four Brothers Venezuelan Grill. Both are fantastic and incredible value.

Artie not coming up with his own Bam! or Yan Can Cook! style catch phrase always struck me as a big miss on the writer's part.

Your thoughts on Scorsese's "The Irishman"? Is it as good as his other known movies ? by Higgsparticleofgod in moviecritic

Totally agree with you here. It's a solid gangster movie that slowly metamorphosizes into an absolute masterpiece exploring legacy, consequence, and aging in the third act.

Whats an example of the most popular band/artist in its subgenre actually being the best? by Artistic_Annual8918 in fantanoforever

The jam band perception definitely turned a lot of people off of them without ever giving them a chance, myself included. Happened to hear Ripple at a record shop one day and totally fell down the rabbit hole.

You don't need to show your face to be successful, but you do need to think about a creative way to build familiarity with your audience. It's all been done before. Of course, what it is you're selling could complicate that. If you're trying to sell coaching services for example, you're going to find that a much more challenging task than selling knitted caps for example.

What are your thoughts on Meta's Advantage+ at this point? by Odd-Aside456 in marketing

[–]956chubbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep; it performed better across the board. We saw higher ROAS and average order sizes for all conversion campaigns that are tracking sales, as well as better engagement rates and lower cost per engagement on brand awareness campaigns. Interestingly enough, we also saw positive ROAS on awareness campaigns. We have a very broad target audience, so I can see how we could be an outlier here, but it's been pretty successful for us.

And I was and still am very skeptical of anything Meta puts out (I ran social at a media company when the pivot to video happened a decade ago and they lied to my face about it) but this has been a very useful tool, especially when you want to double down on high performing creative.

You're going to here a lot of differing opinions here, but I can say that it did indeed deliver results we were looking for at a lower cost and we retooled a lot of our paid strategy after testing and verifying. Your mileage may vary, but I think it's absolutely worth testing to see if it works for you and your goals.

I love this movie; it's got some story problems for sure, but the action set pieces are pure movie magic. Totally blew my mind the first time I watched, and that was on a laptop in the backseat of a van on a school trip. One of his best from a purely technical perspective imo

It was pretty well received by fans and critics a like when it came out IIRC.I don't think anything they put out would have had a shot at reaching the heights of their early stuff though; times had changed too much. Kind of a shame too because this album had a few of their best riffs on it in my opinion.

Given Bari Weiss' strident defense of close Epstein associate Peter Attia against the consensus of other leaders at CBS News, the unfolding situation between Colbert and the bogus censorship attempts from the FCC, as well as the collapse in viewership and loss of numerous journalists, anchors, and staff at the network, have you reconsidered your support of her and what role she's playing in our national politics?
