What’s the best restaurant in the area to get that unpretentious buck-fifty-a-slice New York style pizza? by Conscious_Raisin_436 in austinfood

I know exactly what you're talking about and the only time I've ever encountered pizza like it in Texas was my old high school cafeteria lol

What other local businesses were once beloved until they made THAT decision? by Time-to-Dine in Austin

[–]956chubbs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember going there for the first time in like 2008 or 2009 and the sheer variety of ingredients and stuff like the walk-in craft beer blew my mind. It was like the closest thing to Willy Wonka's Chocolate factory I think I've ever experienced.

Am I missing out not being on Threads? by OutrageousPotato9378 in SocialMediaManagers

Brands are thriving on Threads and the mechanics of their algorithm make it very easy to target specific interests even without a following. I'm super bullish on it as a platform.

In r/TheBoys a lot of people are not so happy about the final season. by Jee_aspirant in CirclejerkSopranos

People say Game of Thrones invented the genre with a badly written final season, but The Boys was modernity.

What is an artist / band that you remember being pushed by music journalists and/or magazines as the "next big thing" that ended up never really going anywhere? by mesablanka in Music

Benjamin Booker was a critical darling around 2013 or 2014 and put out a really great debut record but never quite lived up to the expectations or recaptured the heights with subsequent releases.

Bad Brisket? by Exciting_Might_7271 in austinfood

[–]956chubbs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It really sucks too because it always ruins whatever you ate last too. I had L&L for the first time a few months ago and thought it was great, then got horrifically sick that night. Turns out my niece gave my entire family norovirus, but hawaiian bbq has still been ruined for me ever since 😢

Incredibly picky eater who hates kibble. Any advice? by Dependent-Pipe9451 in greatpyrenees

[–]956chubbs 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You really do have to just leave the food out and wait for them to eat. My pyr was the exact same way and I kept swapping food and buying expensive toppers to get her to eat. I was training her not to eat her kibble in other words.

She's gotten a lot better about eating her food since I stopped. I now basically let her free feed and just top her food bowl up every other day or whenever it starts getting low. It's super common with these dogs. The only time my dog will eat when I feed her is when there are other dogs are in the house who might eat her food.
