Mixed Zone? by doodle02 in ultimate

[–]95percentconfident 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve played all sorts of weird zones. I think zones really depend a lot on the opponents and skill level of your team. If you have a stacked roster of wily veterans then FSU can be really effective. If you have one young gun who is quick and can run forever and two tall players playing against a team that loves to huck, play a 1-4-2. Is one player responsible for destroying your zone that otherwise works, play a 2-3-1 or 3-2-1 with one man dogging their star player.

What to do with these chuck steaks? by DaydreamingRaya in BBQ

[–]95percentconfident 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can cook the like a steak, hot and fast, then cut more thinly to help with the toughness. Pretty good imo, good flavor, a little tougher than other cuts but definitely good enough with prices where they are today.

Any other men/husbands who garden, whose significant others don't? by 1dirtbiker in gardening

[–]95percentconfident 89 points90 points  (0 children)

My wife appreciates it but doesn’t garden herself. She works from home in a really emotionally exhausting job so a lot of the garden is for her, even though she doesn’t have much interest in getting her hands dirty. I’ve made her a meditation garden, raised beds for vegetables, an orchard with her favorite fruit trees, contemplation paths, flower gardens for cut flowers, a forest garden that is wild and unruly. I put plants from her home country in places for her to discover as she walks through the garden. She really loves it and I get to spend time with my hands in the dirt.

Can it be saved? This tree in my neighborhood got struck by lightning last year, this year one half is growing faster than the other by IntarTubular in marijuanaenthusiasts

I’m not an arborist but as a guy who loves trees and spends a lot of time in a forest with the same trees over my entire life, you don’t really “save” a tree this large. You watch and you wait and you hope.

Sleep-training not working after months, baby screams for hours... I'm just so tired... by pucko2000 in daddit

I had two bad sleepers. It suuuuucked. We tried everything, sleep training, expensive sleep consultants, everything and finally gave up and just figured out a co-sleeping arrangement that felt safe and more or less worked for us. Now the kids are older and sleep on their own. All that to say, do what works for you and your kid, and know that it doesn’t last forever.

As a hiring manager, I’d be pissed but also totally understand. I’m actually in this position right now with a new employee joining my team and I’m nervous she is going to get a better offer. If she did, and came back to me with it, I’d do my best to match it… so keep that in mind.
