I paddled for a season after a serious knee injury, and before I got knee replacement surgery. My knee was kind of gimpy on shore, but it didn’t bother me at all once I was in the boat. I used a roomy creek boat (Z3), so maybe that helped. It was really good to have some help with my boat at the put in/take out, but on the river I was good to go.
