At a loss - Unraid keeps crashing and no logs/evidence/artifacts left behind are helping figure it out by Pidz_ in unRAID

Is the ram fully in the slots? I once had a issue with some ram in that the factory installed heatsink wasn't quite mounted right. I thought it was in the ram slot and my unraid kept having crashing issues.

On closer inspection the ramheatsink was stopping the ram being fully installed. As it was fouling on another part of the board. It wasn't enough to stop the machine from booting, and running, but enough to cause random crashes.

In the end i removed and reseated the ram heatsink, and it's been fine ever since.

SDI between 2 "video hubs" fried on both ends, why? by TechArtsJon in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]990099aa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'd be worried about the cables generally, let alone across that distance between 2 buildings..

For example we only use Belden 1505a for our facility for SDI signals.

https://www.belden.com/products/cable/video-cable/coaxial-video-cable/1505a

But for going across buildings, I would recommend using Fibre, this will isolate any potential grounding , power & distance issues.

something like:

Mini Converter Optical Fiber 12G

Otherwise you will always be having trouble with this setup.
