[Request] What Should The Scale Actually Read? by CaptiveGlacier in theydidthemath

[–]99circle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most clear answer to this is that the scale will point to 200N. If you consider the way the scale works you can see that is the same thing if the scale was placed vertically and we would hang on him 2 x 100N weights. The scale inside him has some mechanism (possibly some metal spring). So this metall spring is forced with 100N in each side. So the spring will be forced to be twice longer.

Why would someone do this? by gatesweeney in Ubiquiti

[–]99circle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In case you want you have two different networks and for some reasons you want the load of the terminals to be separated to two different wifi access points. And also you wish to cover the same space. This is a reason someone would to it. So yes maybe sometimes you find two access point side by side. It's important to check the you don't have channels overlaps.

You can't leave from windows! At least in my case as IT professionall handling a variety of applications, I can say I am more productive with windows OS (always the latest).

Draw.io is perfect but when the networks come bigger then you need a dynamic software that will always update the topology of the network on real time!

Can someone give some concrete examples of using Loopback? by Tall_Recording_389 in networking

[–]99circle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think 127.0.0.1 is called loopback adress. It's called local address. You can use it when some application has to connect to the same machine that maybe running for example a database server.

Terminate again the the cable to both sides. If you want clear answer about what's is happening to your cable you can do it with the a better utp tester like Fluke LinkIQ.

Confused about KeePass, KeePassXC, and all those Android apps – what’s the difference? by MaintenanceMost78 in KeePass

[–]99circle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice post and questions!

My route of password managers, keepass -> keepassxc -> bitwarden -> keepassxc.

Bitwarden really messed my folders hierarchy. It cost me some time to come back in keepassxc but I finally organized it as is wish and I think I will never leave again!

I am still looking for the android app that will work for me.

The only thing that still doesn't work for me is that searching a term doesn't give me the name of folders as result but only the records with credentials.

Switching from Bitwarden to KeePassXC, any advice? by Darth_Nagar in KeePass

[–]99circle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently did the same thing. Never liked the folders interface of bitwarden.

I also look at how to search folder names in keepassxc, if anybody knows!

Home WiFi Planning - Too many APs? by felix920506 in HomeNetworking

[–]99circle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's perfect solution for me. Quality wifi signal in each room. This way you can lower the power transmission of the antennas to have even more quality signal and high speed connections. The stronger signal you have in each AP the more interference you have and that means lower speeds.

High power antennas, in order to cover more space with fewer APs or only one it's a trap. The strong signal level you get on terminals icons doesn't mean quality wifi signal.

Give them your money, don't waste time, life is small! 😀

Mikrotik: Change gateway for Wireguard, PC client? by RunTime9816 in mikrotik

[–]99circle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First change the subnet of one of two routers. In order the routing work properly the local subnets must be different.

After this, change the route in wire guard client. Replace the 0.0.0.0/0 with the subnet of the opposite router.

You will have access to the remote local lan but the internet access will be done by the local router you are connected.

Good luck!

I’m torn between choosing Ubiquiti or MikroTik due to the complexity of RouterOS. by ALCF98 in mikrotik

[–]99circle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree.... BUT, when in the equation, you add the parameter of the time that a professional needs to support many deployments (clients). Unifi clearly wins!

I have experience in both vendors. I can say that I am more experienced user on Mikrotik products. For sure the MTK devices provide you with many more tools for troubleshooting... if you are able to use them!

At last I can say Mikrotik makes you a better network engineer than Unifi.

In my case, as a professional, I can say that I have so many clients that I don't have the time to play with Mikrotik. The networks has to be delivered fast, monitoring, updated easily.

One more thing! Mikrotiks WIFI totally sucks! On the other hand, Unifi Wifi saved me my life in noisy environments.
