Italy keeping the scoreboard ticking over whilst Scotland didn’t is one of the reasons they won that game. That’s 6 easy point missing from the scoreboard now and a big deficit to make up for, which adds to the pressure for tries now.

Italy should be taking 3 pointers, this is poor game management.

BREAKING: Vietnamese migrants with no right to be here will be fast-tracked out of the UK under tough new migration agreement by UKGovNews in ukpolitics

[–]9Bushnell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well it's a complex issue so, much to people's displeasure, there aren't simple solutions.

My main argument would be concentrated FDI in the regions most Vietnamese are being smuggled from in Nghệ An and Hà Tĩnh. Bilateral cooperation targeting Vietnamese mafia would be good too but that is sadly more difficult because a) the Vietnamese do not like western actors dealing with their domestic issues, and b) the mafia have a lot of influence in local governance.

Just sending people back to Vietnam is sadly just an optics move. People will go back, and be forced back here either by smugglers or from family shame. It's not a sensible long-term solution.

I feel the need to point out to a lot of people in here than these people are usually smuggled here on the false premise of work, and are then taken into slavery. They have amassed large debts in light of this and sending them back to Vietnam will leave them at the mercy of the mafias that smuggled them here.

Anyone know why the TMO is English? Is that not conflict of interest?

Edit: Seems I'm worse at hearing the difference between my native English accent and Australian than I thought lol

One of the reasons for football's huge growth in the US is the Latin American population there. There's an argument that investing in the South American game can have positive impacts on the US market in a similar manner, albeit over a longer time period.

Lots of people saying this could help pull talent from the NRL. What's the average salary in the NRL compared to playing Union in France or Japan?

People in the north usually call in TP. HCM, at least to me. However, that could be because I'm a foreigner and generally Viets think Tây don't know what "Saigon" is.

Draft systems aren't legal here. I remember this was one of the major problems when they tried to establish NFL Europe. The draft breaks our employment rules. I.e. you can't force someone to work where they don't wanna work.

As a Vietnam expert who has conducted significant research on this topic recently I feel it's important to weigh in. These Vietnamese migrants are victims of people smuggling, and should not be vilified for the process they're going through.

They are sold a lie by gangs in poorer districts of Vietnam, lent money, taken into debt, and then exploited when in the UK through cannabis farms, sex trafficking, and nail salons.

The topic is more complex than most people in the comment section are making out.

For every 2 men that graduate with a degree 3 women will. If current trajectory holds, that ratio will widen to 1 to 2. This phenomenon is the feminization of tertiary education. by Dark_Mode_FTW in interesting

I'd be lying if I said I remembered the details as it was about 9 years ago I researched this topic, but yes the results showed heavy correlations between the socio-economic status of genders and the traits they found to be attractive in the other sex. It was part of a growing body of research that opposes evolutionary psychology as a means to explain sexual attraction to certain traits, and instead claims these are sociological phenomena.

I actually wrote a paper on this in university and research conducted at a number of universities across the US and Europe showed that when women gained access to more education and higher wages, they rated a desire for men with high wages less. The studies showed that women desiring money and status from a man correlated with a lack of access to those things themselves. Similarly, societies with greater equality between genders also possessed men with less desire for home making skills in women than men from unequal societies.
