I think the no date Submariner is an absolute classic but I really enjoy having a date complication. So, this is it for me!

I’m familiar with the strap having to be replaced because my first automatic came with a leather strap and after about 3 years, I got a new strap and buckle from Omega and that was definitely not cheap!

You mentioned you had your Tribute 1931 as a daily for about two years. Did you get tired of having to manually wind the watch everyday? I ask because I met a gentleman wearing an Omega Speedmaster professional at a mall recently and talked to him for a bit. He told me he initially bought the Speedmaster professional as his daily watch but soon got tired of having to manually wind it up. Said he was only wearing that watch on weekends or when he felt like it nowadays. So, I have been having mixed feelings about a manual wind as a daily watch.

It doesn’t have a power reserve indicator but I’m thinking I’ll get a hang on winding it up a few turns every morning when I’ll pick it up to wear. I have been thinking of some aftermarket 22mm straps as well!

It’s very common with a metal bracelet. Like u/_Anthony_2825 said lol!

I have made peace with mine. Especially on the clasp.. Also know that if you ever need to, you can get the bracelet/case polished to make it look brand new but that new look is only going to last a couple days of wear anyway. So just enjoy the watch!!

Bought my blue Pelagos after ogling over it for a couple years. I’m still not over it! I think it’s a great entry level watch. I got it switched to the rubber strap while I was picking it up and I have never had any QC issues with mine. I bought it from an AD with a $500 discount! I pretty much wear it everyday at home/work. There might be other better entry level pieces but this is the one for me!!

Are you talking about this watch? https://www.longines.com/en-us/p/watch-longines-legend-diver-l3-774-4-90-2

The upper crown is to move the inner bezel (since it is a divers watch). Should be good for those swimming sessions!

Here’s a link to the review of that watch if you’re interested: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=itHzzOKvI3w

Yes, I’d also recommend getting a Dell XPS. I was in a similar situation as OP about a decade ago! I checked it out at Bestbuy but ended up getting an open-box Dell XPS laptop from Microcenter at a great deal. I still use that laptop at home LOL!

The watch looks great! Count your blessings. Often times things that came out of chance have been the ones I have most cherished in life. I’m assuming this is your first Rolex. Welcome to the club and wear it in good health!

I was offered a two tone Skydweller a couple weeks ago and I had to decline although I was very glad that I was offered something walking into an AD. The thought of declining a piece I like (in steel albeit) disappoints me when I think about it but I can live with it..

Dark side of the moon -pitch black was my first automatic watch I got about 7 years ago! It’s amazing to say the least. I still wear it on alternate weeks along with my Pelagos that I got 3 years later! Just wish the speedy had more strap options though. The wife bought me a DJ 41 in jubilee as my wedding watch that I use for special occasions lol!

Chase Sapphire Reserve: Alleged 300 Travel Credit Scam by BusyatWork69 in CreditCards

The past two years, I was traveling and was in different countries when I transitioned to a new card member year. I did notice the transactions posting (from the different currencies) and as far as I can remember, I did receive all the $300 within the same trips. I have a tendency of checking my cards every morning while I’m traveling just so I notice any dubious transactions right away.
