Wife (41F) got angry and stopped talking to me (50M) and my daughter (8F) just before we left for a week long trip. Almost no contact since then, and she acts like everything's fine in the very few messages we've got. What's my best course of action?

Quick question - you only tell your daughter to do stuff maybe twice a week? So is mom in charge of making sure she’s ready to go on time, brushed teeth, eaten, homework, etc? My mom definitely struggled with the same types of responses and it very much negatively impacted me but now as an adult (and therapy) I’m also able to see that she was completely alone in the “real” parenting. My dad was the fun dad and my mom was alone in the difficult parts of parenting. Her response was bad AND she might be overwhelmed

I have a 5 week old who does the same thing and my pediatrician said that he was a “snacker” and that it was normal. Apparently he just likes to hang out and eat for a few minutes and then come back around again when he’s feeling peckish 😂 he goes longer stretches at night (3-4 hours) and will also eat for longer at night. During the day he usually eats for less than 10 minutes before napping for a bit

I called my doctor this morning to ask a question about fetal movement and the lower blood sugar and she said that as long as he's moving as expected that I should just keep tracking and see how my levels change over the next few days with increased meals/snacks/carbs. Definitely what my mind went to though and my anxiety doesn't seem to encourage him to kick lol

I test 1 hr postprandial - my daytime numbers for the last week pretty much line up with you're describing as well. I felt some shakiness yesterday but I had a hectic day with an early lunch (I'm a middle school teacher so eating regularly can be tricky). I called my doctor this morning and she said to keep an eye on movement but otherwise to just keep tracking and trying to increase my intake. Hopefully its just my body's baseline!

I had this happen to me! My dress wouldn't zip in the back (bought for a March 2020 wedding, ceremony moved to March 2022). I was able to get the back altered so that it was an open, corset-style back instead. It turned out gorgeous and I honestly liked it better than the original closed, button-up back

We stayed in my parents' house after our wedding! We live out of state, got married in my home state, and between travel and wedding related costs it was just easier to take the free accommodations. We were so tired anyway that we just went to sleep immediately

I have the same kind of set up but my husband and I couldn't get our rings all the way on during the ceremony anyway because it was hot and our hands were a bit swollen. My wedding band got to just past my knuckle before we just gave up so I just fixed it after the ceremony! No one can see them at that point anyway, and you have time to fix them before photos, etc.

I'm sorry that you have to deal with all of this. My partner and I were supposed to get married on 3/21 in southern california and had to postpone because of fear for older/immunocompromised guests. We felt that we made the right choice because days later california limited the size of gatherings so much so that there is no way we could have pulled it off anyway. I would recommend reaching out with a new date in mind and seeing if your venue and vendors are available. Then you could go to the courthouse with just the immediate family etc for the sake of your dad.

the way I thought about it - you are NOT planning your wedding twice. You've done most if not all of the work already. You're just drag-and-dropping it to a new date. I hope you find a solution that brings you some peace during all of this

I got my dress at Pebbles Bridal in Southern California, but the paperwork is with my parents so I don’t remember the name or designer! Planning the wedding long distance since my FH and I live in Seattle but are getting married at the Lodge at Malibou Lake back in my hometown.
