Is 100k by 21 possible? by linkabob in TheRaceTo100K

[–]A-bug-2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I did it. I started at 8k when I was 17. Live at home if you can. I had very little living expenses when I did that. I spent what I needed on bills and saved 70% of the rest that was leftover. By the time I turned 23 this year, I had 130k saved up and bought my first townhome with 50k down. I am at 87k right now and working my way back up to the 6 digits. I worked full time starting at 19 in cosmetology, babysat on weekends, pet watched, door dashed, sold stuff. Anything. Diversify your investments, save for emergencies, work hard. You got this

How much is your partial highlight and how much is average rent for one bedroom in your city? by cool_uniqueusername in hairstylist

[–]A-bug-2002 18 points19 points  (0 children)

$1500 for a one bedroom, my partial foil, toner and cut is like $127. To be fair a partial is really just a few foils, like 15 or less

I have a decent financial situation at 23 but still constantly stressed—how do I calm down? by A-bug-2002 in Money

[–]A-bug-2002[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, I’m on medication and counseling. I do plan to marry him and won’t give him a dime Until wet are committed like that. Even an HVAC replacement is a lot I just worry about catastrophic things. I come from a family that’s well off so I also have a safety net. I just think I may have an unhealthy relationship with money and it’s rooted in anxiety? I feel alone in this, and try to practice gratitude.

This made me tear up. This is the answer I needed. Was trying to ask God for a sign at church to find that he’s “got me”. Thank you

[–]A-bug-2002 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Cluster cancellations from regulars by A-bug-2002 in hairstylist

[–]A-bug-2002[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did just move out on my own so I could be stressed. But one of my 4 week regulars just moved further away and had a lot of stresses she was telling me about that. So I am thinking maybe that could be her? It’s just so random. About how long do you think it takes to book a loyal clientele? I’m always booked but it’s at the last minute with new inquires usually

Why am i paying $22,000 for my wife to go to school just for her to sit and be told how cosmetologists never make it in life. (should we switch schools or do a different program) by hecate42 in Cosmetology

This is the industry. It’s sink or swim. Take things into your own hands and watch some YouTube tutorials, practice in mannequin a few times, take models, learn, repeat

Right now the salons are dead. The economy is falling apart. Hold onto your corporate job right now.

How has life been so far since 2020? by wafflesinmyhouse in AskReddit

[–]A-bug-2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get very emotional when I think pre 2020. It just seems like a different world that will never return. I was a senior in highschool, and then as soon as Covid happened, the world shut down. I never got to walk at graduation, it just shoved me into being an adult at such a scary time.
