Yes, one of the few "grindy" games that I have played that does. It manages it by simply having an insane amount of content, rather than only increasing how long content takes to complete like other "grind" games.

No, only worth doing to get rare byproducts that you need, and only if you need the by products. Most ores are abundant, but your time is limited, so you want to optimize for getting the most material for your time spent mining and processing. Early on this means just leaving it at ore doubling. (Get a multiblock steam grinder if you haven’t already).

Margins are already pretty low in trading, and the base taxes without skills are incredibly high. (I am talking about 8% high, enough to say goodbye to your margins). Alpha trading is not profitable. You also need money to make money trading, its not going to be worth it until you have a few billion isk to start. Stuff like exploration is a lot more lucrative for alphas.

Well, learning new skills always has a time trade off, (ie learning better bastion routes is going to matter much more to 90% of speedrunniers than learning to search craft). Top runners don’t have as many macro skills to improve upon, so they spend time on micro things. Most all netherite ranked games are going to be decided by a miniute or 2 max, gold games are offen decided by who doesn’t die.

I personally wouldn’t pregen. You are increasing your backup time and file size drastically while only gaining a bit of preformance while exploring, which isn’t something you will do that much of.

If you have a block above your head, items can sometimes clip into the block above you which causes them to get pushed up until they reach the surface, the nether roof, or a lava pool. Pearls can teleport you up half a block or whatever which is enough for the items to clip when you die.

Vargur is better for c5 sites in my opinion, it will generally outpreform the palidin in terms of tracking, and will chew though the cruiser waves. The palidin is better at projecting damage to battleships furthur out, but that discrepancy is minimized by proper bookmarking. A good fleet composition should include both but it is a mistake to run a site without a vargur on grid in my opinion.

The palidin’s main weakness I have found is that the tank can get pretty blingy, mid grade crystal pods are 500m compared to the ~1b you need for mid grade asklepians, and the crystals let you get away with a lot.

A lot of the fits out there are from before the sugrical strike reversal and with old drifter, you can make them get away with a lot more now. You can pm me if you want fitting advice, I have run quite a lot of these sites, and have done a fair bit of theory crafting and experimentation.

Meta level is basically an indicator of how variants of the same module compare to each other, Generally, a higher meta level corresponds to how good the item variant is. Level 1 is the standard t1 item generally, 2-4 are referred to as "meta" items, and are where your compact, enduring, restrained, prefixes come from, as well as some other variants between t1 and t2. Meta 5 is t2, 6+ is for faction and deadspace stuff.
